Big Red carrier update to 28.4 on iPhone 6s.

AT&T for my iPhone 7+ is 28.3, however, on my AT&T iPad Pro it is 28.0. Both were just updated to 10.3.1. Is it usual for two iOS devices (granted different iOS devices) to be on different carrier profiles? Thanks in advance for replies!

It seems like carriers sometimes release iPhone specific updates. For example my iPhone on T-Mobile has 28.3 (last I checked)l but my iPad Air 2 (T-mobile free 200 Mb plan) has 28.0 like yours.

I like SIRI when I do use her.. it's just I completely forget she exists sometimes lol

She is very forgettable.

Perhaps if Apple had named her:

Candy, or Bambi, or Bubbles, or ....

Any airhead sounding name would have been more fitting for her (given how often she says she doesn't understand). And such names would have likely made her more memorable (at least to adolescents).

That's funny, my or original air and 6 plus both still get outstanding battery life.

Your a lucky one then , I have had rubbish battery life on 7 since 10.2.1, I'm not the only one. 20% -30% battery drain on standby.
Betas have not fixed it
Hoping 10.3.1 fixes it

Looks like RAM management and utilization got patched somewhere in there. Was having multiple crashes on cache-heavy apps as well as Safari when viewing 19MB+ high resolution images that are now gone. Happy as a clam.

This has fixed the bug for ipad 4 where the OTA update did not work for ios 10.3. Workaround then was to update through iTunes instead.

But the OTA update is working now for the ipad 4 for ios 10.3.1.

I'm guessing you have an app problem.

That's strange, I have a 7 which was running 10.2.1 & now 10.3.1 with not one battery issue whatsoever. I can go about 2 days of pretty decent use before having to recharge. Even then, my battery only drops to about 30% after that time...
I wonder what the issue can be with your battery bud....

+1 what Morac wrote. I carry an ATTWS 6S and VZW 6S+, each has subtle differences in features. One of the newer VZW features is covered under Wi-Fi Calling, which doesn't appear as an option with my ATTWS iP6 - a second toggle option under that menu named "Prefer Wi-Fi While Roaming". VZW also recently enabled connecting via IPv6, while ATTWS hasn't; VZW's IPv6 isn't tied to this carrier update as I was noticing it was enabled while tethering to my Air 2.

FWIW, the VZW Carrier Update 28.4 was actually pushed last week and shortly after 10.3, and both my VZW Air 2 and iPP are still on Carrier Update 28.0.

Incorrect info in the article. iOS 10.3.2 does not end support for 32 bit apps. Seems iOS 10.3.1 fixes a security flaw in the wifi chip.

I saw someone said 68mb for iPhone 6. But it could only take a single line of code to cause/fix a battery issue. However I agree with you in that there is no inherent battery issue with 10.3. Most likely that user has an app or something else causing the problem.
[Edit] iPhone 6 is 27.5mb after-all.
I hope your right. But just in case they do I just ordered my 7 plus 128 so hopefully it has 10.3.1

Curios why people think it's fascinating to list the number of MB for their on personal download??

I wish it was that simple, I went a few days with only factory apps.
No change, there is quite a few people on apple forum that have been experiencing same issue. Also know of 2 people besides myself with same issue and iPhone 7's

Can you try charging it and leaving on standby without using it till morning and seeing what the percentage is ?

Anybody know when this issue arose? Is it present in old iPhones like 4s that no longer get updates, or was it introduced in a newer iOS?

I'm on a 6s and family not older than a 6, but still know several friends who are sporting a 4s.

I hate when updates don't have specifics on what they are fixing/changing. The worst offender is Facebook who never mentions anything beyond "we push updates periodically to fix things" ....ya, no duh, Facebook.

Yeah. Typical Facebook. Never a whisper of what the updates are all about.

In case of Facebook in particular and new features specifically, they often roll them out as tests or as part of gradual rollouts so not everyone would see all new features and some might see different ones from others. That might play into things as far as them not really listing out at least some of the new changes.

You shouldn't use that cesspit of an app anyway. Just use the Facebook mobile website if you really must access Facebook.

I hope this one makes my 6S useable again.

For me the issues are rarely the operating system. Mostly it is the endless apps that need navigation turned on in the background, too many apps wanting notifications when they aren't really needed etc... turn off some of those things and battery life will be a whole lot better.

Iphone 7 is also really good with battery life - using the low power cores most of the time whilst still feeling swift and without any lag. Brilliant phone

Coming from an android device (S7 edge) this is cray cray. So many updates and they are available instantly!

That is one of two things iOS does unquestionably better than Android (the other being backups on an unrooted device).

I'm concerned in updating because I saw an article saying that 10.3.2 will remove support for 32 bit apps. Are 32 bit apps working in 10.3.1?
I may be forced to upgrade to an iPhone 7 now just so I can remain on 10.3.0. I have some 32 bit apps that are a must because I live in a remote area without internet and my apps allow me to download Apple updates onto the phone first and then transfer them to the computer via iTunes.

I doubt that. There are plenty in the 64 bit range as well. And if they aren't updated by the developer they should be pushed out anyways. 32/64 has little relevance to being in a "remote area"

Since downloading this update I cannot use iCloud across devices. Just get the message saying iCloud is temporarily unavailable and to try in a few minutes. Spoke to Apple support who confirm problem on my iCloud account but haven't got back to me yet.
Might be a coincidence but all worked before the update.
