Very unhappy with the iPad version of Safari. Before, I could easily navigate my favourites, browse to sites and quickly click the bookmarks button on the top left to hide the sidebar and see the site full screen.

Not anymore: now I need to move the page to get the side bar button to appear, navigate to bookmarks to find my favourites. And to hide the bar, I need to hit back several times until the button to hide the sidebar appears! WTF.

Besides that: it looks quite ugly. Don’t like the address bar and tabs layout.

you didn’t even notice the bar being hidden in all of iOS 14 did you??!

1 tap the hidden smart bar and the buttons appear. Tap the bookmark icon and select bookmarks, navigate to Favourites (or select if that was the last area of bookmarks you last were in. Simple and the exact same steps in iOS 14 or before iOS 14 1 more step yet all the other the exact same method.

try things first or ask before complaining if you can. Free your mind Neo ;) make the jump.

I think the main complaint was that there is no way to close the sidebar once you go into Bookmarks in landscape mode on the iPad. You have to go back to the previous screen. So if your bookmarks are several folders deep, you have to back all the way out in order to close the sidebar. Try this out on the iPad and then you’ll see the issue…

Maybe read carefully before making assumptions Neo. I’m talking about iPad. I have zero complaints about iPhone.

On iPad I need to summon the side bar, navigate to Bookmarks, find my link and tap it. And then (this is the really annoying part), hit “back” several times to get back to the button to hide the sidebar.

Now be a dear and check if I’m right and come back with a useful workaround Neo 😉 make the jump.

youre right I missed that you mentioned the iPad my bad in Zion there. Bad bad. My iPad Pro is in my sisters hands now, I’m on the fence ordering the iPad Mini but non in stock for pickup and delivery dates are Oct 26-Nov 1st :( meaning I’m sure you’ll find a solution or workaround before then. I’ll still try though. sucks that this is an issue that Craig and his team haven’t tested or ironed out.
