I'm not seeing the iOS 17.1.1 update on my Mac when I connect my iPhone to my Mac. (I always update my iPhone with my Mac. I never use OTA updates.) Is anyone else having this problem?
Yes. Same. I was going to update my Mac then try again but accidentally started the update on iPhone.

I don't mind doing OTA updates but if they're too big, I don't have enough storage to make that happen.

My 15 Pro Max just updated fine. No issues. Tap to pay still seems to work.

Just noted some apps have had mobile data access switched off after update… wasn’t aware you could individually… i hope i don’t have open each app in settings to enable mobile data !!!

Hmmm… hasn’t changed for other apps but weird how these did change after update eg fedex app

Interesting to note:

no IPSWs are available for use to update.

Did they remove the safari fullscreen message right smack in the middle of the playbutton and screen?

Can they finally fix the bug that my wallpaper won’t get blurred when it was changed by a focus mode ffs

They haven’t fixed keychain passwords update issue. If you have any account setup with keychain mfa verification codes and try to update either email or password on web using Safari then it wipes off your setup mfa for that account while updating email or password. It also wipes any notes kept in that password item so if you keep your account recovery codes in password notes like me then you lose mfa and recovery codes and as a result you lose access to your account. I reported it as a bug to Apple.

This update shows on OTA but not on Mac. iPhone 15 pro max. updated my Mac but not showing this update nor the HomePod update.

If any of you are interested, I started a separate thread specific to this particular issue:

Apple today released iOS 17.1.1 and iPadOS 17.1.1, minor updates to the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 operating systems that first came out in September. iOS 17.1.1 and iPadOS 17.1.1 come roughly two weeks after Apple released iOS 17.1, an update that brought new AirDrop, StandBy, and Apple Music features.

iOS-17.1.1-Feature.jpg

iOS 17.1.1 and iPadOS 17.1.1 can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

The iOS 17.1.1 update addresses a BMW wireless charging problem and a bug with the Weather Lock Screen widget. There have also been issues with Wi-Fi connectivity and device shutdowns, but it's unclear if anything in iOS 17.1.1 is intended to address those. Apple's full release notes for the update are below.

Apple is already testing iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2, updates that are expected to be released in December.

I am on 7.2 beta, if I get this update, will i come off the beta cycle?
No 17.1.1 showing for me..UK

You need to update to a newer BMW model made after 2018 to use your iPhone. Just like you need to buy a new computer and iPhone made after 2018 to install iOS 17/ MacOS.o_O

Yikes. The update broke Apple Pay for me on the iPhone 15 Pro. Forced me into recovery as well. 17.1.2 coming in 3… 2…
Same here. iPhone 15 Pro went into data recovery mode after the update. Then afterwards it told me Apple Pay didn’t work on my device anymore. Did another restart and now that warning is gone but I haven’t tested if it actually works.

I thought they were going to do this at one point many years ago. That and smaller updates. Alpha updates maybe? I don't remember what they're called. Maybe delta.

Delta. I think they are doing that. But the numbers keep getting bigger anyway so small is relative.

Perfect, now I just need a BMW
Save your money I think they are highly overrated my 2023 Chevy Silverado 4x4 gets to point A and to point B in all the style I will ever need plus it hauls my camper and boat can a bmw do that 🤣

Totally agree with you. I'd never spend that much on a BMW after being in them a couple times. Nothing special.

My weather widget was constantly asking for my location with 17.1. No matter how many times I hit yes or manually went into the settings to choose always allow, within minutes it would be asking for my location again.

This update fixed it! Holy crap that was annoying having a prompt every time I unlocked my phone.
