I noticed that the install behavior changed slightly. It used to be that after downloading and preparing then a dialog box would appear asking if you wanted to install now or later. Now that same dialog appears but it adds a ten second counter to proceed with the install if you don’t intervene. This may have been there earlier but it is the first time I noticed it. Really helpful, it was so annoying to come back expecting your device to be updated and instead find that dialog. (I know, first world problem.)
That timer/counter has been there for a while now but I don’t know how long exactly.

Bluetooth fixed yet? We need a lawsuit for this one.
Some people may laugh but the last two times I have updated I have been forced to delete my Bluetooth pairings with other devices (including my car) and re-pair my phone with all of them. That has never happened before.

Does anyone do a soft reset after iOS updates? Is it necessary or recommended at least?
I do, it’s easy enough to do.
I’ve had instances in the past where Siri didn’t work properly til then, or the device seemed a little warm until I did a soft reset.

Have to use and see how priority notifications are. It is a small update. Will be updating my devices soon.

WTF is the new Clips app that was downloaded to and installed on my Home Screen?

Edit: Or rather, why is this 4 or 5 (?) yer old app being (re-?) installed onto my Home Screen?

Anyway, (re-?) deleted now...
Had the same thing happen, but with a different app. In my case it was ”Last War:Survival”.

I got a prompt asking if I wanted to download it over cellular or wait for WiFi, otherwise I would likely not even have noticed it popping back.
I’m not sure if it said to download an update or reinstall it outright (it’s in my purchase history from last June).

My hunch is that this may have been an app I deleted from within the App Store update section by delete swiping it while it was being updated.

Still broken (reported this to Apple during beta period) but cannot use Dropbox at all, and then any app that uses storage at all will either not function or will give you an alert that you have 0 remaining storage…. Yet my iPhone is 1TB and only using around 197.26GB of the 1.02TB and then my iPad is only using 324.18GB of 2TB…View attachment 2497616View attachment 2497615

SO this is by far the worst iOS release Apple has ever pushed out.
Anyone else seeing Dropbox not working ?

Update remained stuck on “Update requested…” for a while, but it went through after a while.
Mine was the opposite. I got the download the night before release. (And yes, I had the latest beta at that point, so it was definitely the GM)

I rejoice that my location and langauge combination keep continuously thwarting the automatic enabling of Apple Intelligence [Alpha].

Long may that continue :)

I updated and Dropbox is working for me
Ya appears to only be apps downloaded with MDM.. So if have a business profile on device and download from the Apple Business App Store those are the apps that are affected… Only thing is if then delete the app and reinstall from the regular App Store it still doesnt work… So its like just fact of having a business profile on phone affects it.

Was not expecting updates for iOS 15 and iOS 16 in 2025, while no love for those who decided to stay with iOS 17

iOS 12 needs x.5.8 or x.6

I was expecting a few updates for theses this year… but who had the idea to put 16.7.11 and not 16.8 come on… they did 15.8 with iOS 15

If I had to guess, it's because apps written for iOS 15 and iOS 16 might be sniffing for the last official major/minor version, which are 15.8 and 16.7. By keeping the major/minor version the same it preserves app legacy compatibility. Older devices are stuck on these versions and cannot be upgraded to iOS 17 or iOS 18.

Apps that are looking for 15.x.x or 16.x.x might break or be confused if you tried to install them on a hypothetical 15.9 or 16.8, because the app code might detect an invalid OS or may not have that string. The apps normally would be looking for 15.0.x-15.8.x and 16.0.x-16.7.x

This is why browser user agents on Mac OS 11+ still shows Catalina 10.15.7. And this is why StatCounter reports almost everyone running on Catalina! 🤣

Wow it means macOS 15 doesn’t have a lot of attacks… thanks

Great to see they finally fixed the App Store in iOS 18.4, something was messed up since iOS 17, maybe a memory leak, it would get worse over time until you force closed the App Store. It got a little better with iOS 18, but it was still an issue.
When updating multiple apps it would take some time until they were moved down to recently updated, although the app finished updating.
During this time if you tried to explore the App Store before the app was moved down to recently updated, it wouldn't load the information, even on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, i noticed this ever since I got it out of the box and set it up. My old iPhone 8+ that was still on iOS 16 wasn't affected by this, but every other device that was on iOS 17 or 18 was affected.
I did upgrade to iPhone 16 Pro Max and this one didn't really seem to have been affected or the issue was barely noticeable before iOS 18.4.
Too bad for devices that are stuck on iOS 17 like the iPad Pro 10.5" (2017), that one is the most affected, it's a real struggle to update apps on it, have to force close the App Store multiple times. iOS 16 should have been the last version for this iPad.

Since updating to 18.4 whenever a focus is enabled that has AOD on, after said focus disabling automatically AOD remains on forever. Already rebooted the phone, still acts the same way. Very cool Apple, more and more bugs

priority notifications only seems to work on messages. granted i think it's really useful but not working on other apps
