May as well sign up and install the beta releases, if this is where we're going. At least then, I'd actually be giving Apple my informed consent to run software that will be bug-ridden and potentially compromise previously solid functionality, on the basis that it's for testing purposes only.

They're fast becoming just another tech company treating its loyal customer-base atrociously. Just like certain airlines internally consider customers as "self-loading luggage" (and it shows). I'm not sure if it comes from a place of hubris, incompetence or just contempt. Likely all three.

Apple today released iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5, the fifth updates to the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems that came out last September. iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 come a little over a month after Apple released iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4.

The new software can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 18.5 update has a build number of 22F76, so those that had the RC installed will see another update.

iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 are on the smaller side, featuring a limited number of new features. There's an update to Screen Time that lets parents know when a Screen Time passcode is used on a child's device, and there is support for carrier-provided satellite features on iPhone 13 models. Apple's full release notes are below.

Apple will soon be shifting focus to iOS 19 and iPadOS 19, which are set to debut at the June Worldwide Developers Conference, but Apple does plan to release an iOS 18.6 update to bring Apple Intelligence to China.

As soon my Iphone 15 Pro restarted from installing 18.5 final (had been using betas) FaceID failed and camera is not working. Reset setting and reinstall did not fix problem

I’m quite like the new pride wallpaper. Probably my favourite one they’ve released.
New wallpaper is not pride enough. We need more xD

I appreciate both your opinions. I also want to call out @miq for downvoting both of you without comment. @miq do you have anything you want to share with the class? Or are you just doing the most you can without being banned? lol.
