Hmm iPhone 15 pro max was acting kind of weird at first. Didn't seem like network was functioning despite being connected to wifi. I suspect it may have been running some post update task that needed to complete before it let things run normally. It seems fine after 10 minutes.

Oh dear.
I swear, every single time there is an iOS update with a watchOS update, my move ring streak gets weird.
Lost well over 30 days for no reason on last update.

Sorry if this question has already been asked. Well it might have been.

I bought the 16e on iOS 18.3 pre-installed and never updated on purpose because of the great battery life. Please let "security" out of queston.

The annoying glitch in iOS 18.3 for me is a crippled blootooth connection with the airpods. They reconnect to the phone repeatedly about once in every 30 minutes or so. Aside from that the system is pretty much okay, no complaints. Just the airpods issue And itls not the airpods' firmware. Already been tested. And even with different airpods.

THe best part is that the 16e holds a bit less than three days on one charge. No game playing, obviously. And no Facebook. I'm afraid of losing this battery efficiency even if I update to the latest iOS 18. Alrady has happened, not with the latest iOS versions though. Anyways, once bitten twice shy.

I've had iPhones for a while. After the first update and on the battery life stayed for one day ever since. Kinda bummer after three days. Well, at least this has always been happening to me when I updated from the virgin iOS. The same happened to 13mini when I updated it from iOS 15.0.1 to 15.3. It immediately shoten the battery life so drastically that I was about to pull my hair off for updating.

However, I wonder how 13mini's battery would perform updated from 15.0.1 straight to 15.6 or whatever the latest 15th one is. Would it also immediately deteriorate as usual or would it be around the same as factory pre-installed iOS assumig it became stable in its latest iteration.

Call me a pessimist but I don't believe it wouldn't be able to go around continually in use for three days as it is now. The AirPods bug is a price for that.

Actually at the begging after update phone was a little bit laggy, but when dust settled, everything smoother than on 18.5, iPhone 12

Shocking

Funny. Feels like iOS 18 has been a non event. I guess it was supposed to be the year of Apple Intelligence that didn't actually happen. Feels like we lost a year.

Not bitter about it. Just an observation. Lots of other companies moving forward with features that have helped my day-to-day on my Apple devices.
Apple Intelligence is a big miss. If Apple could release at least one feature of Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.0, things won't be this kind of bad.

What have you read that makes you worry so much about a software update deteriorating your battery life? Just because it happened once to you are you going to forever fear updates?
It’s understandable and very logical. New version means new features, more processing power, less battery. There are few versions that are better than their predecessor, like iOS 12 - but it’s not common. I am personally update only when I have to (mostly due to apps compatibility).

Well, just because you say it does not make it so.

Oftentimes after a feature is released the developers can code optimizations that improve performance, and reduce memory and processing requirements.

But do as you wish if you’re that certain you know how all of this works.

Does it also fix the CarPlay drop out issues when cable connected to a vehicle?

I’m staying away from iOS 26 until at least 26.1, if the beta quality is anything to go by. Seeing a lot of Devs criticising it at this stage and fearing they won’t be ready for the RC
Been on iOS 26 since the first dev beta and it has improved. People do like to complain. But it is a beta. Battery life has improved. But still still a ways to go.

IOS 18.6 touch response is SLOW, GLITCHY when opening apps. Not a good look apple. Keep it up and they will go out of business by 2030 because of their poor software updates and now expensives phones
It can be slow for a few days after updating. Expecting to be perfect pair install is a bit much.

Another lackluster update.
Everything seems fine on iPhone 13 Pro, perhaps even snappier.

Not just once. It's been happening all the time I took the risk to update a freshly bought iPhone. Starting since 3GS.

All devices updated. Now ready to leave for work.
Same here. iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad all updated. No issues before and still no issues after.

Thank you for bringing this issue to a head. These are the Words that live by. The problem many perceivable views are coming from people who have no idea. What they're referring to.
