Very happy to see alarms for reminders. Have missed some in the past. Will update my 17 Pro Max soon. The liquid glass slider for lock screen is also a welcome change.

About the offline lyrics

It may sound stupid but I think I figured ut out

It works ONLY if you have a subscription active STILL, not just buying one song at a time ( like I started doing )

In notifications, I noticed there is no enhanced alerts option on my 16PM. I'm in the UK. I take it this option is country specific?
Same piece of land as yourself

None that I can see re the notifications

What’s that about anyway?

Pardon my ignorance 😂😂🤌🏻🤌🏻

Found it

I’m ironic at myself only THIS TIME 😂😂😂

Nobody noticed Apple closed the access for the third party airdrop tool with the need of a passcode? Lol

Ofcourse people noticed. It's even in the release notes:

  • AirDrop codes offer an additional layer of verification when using AirDrop with unknown contacts by providing a code on the receiver’s device that the sender must enter to complete the transfer

And Apple (again!) forced automatic downloads to ON. Good thing I saw that before it actually updated for me and my wife. I am getting tired of this Apple! Also I wanted to update her phone to 18.7.2 but it was no longer an option; hopefully 18.7.3 will be released soon and we can both update to that.

Interesting as I have had the opposite problem. My Mac only offered iOS 26 when all I wanted to install was 18.7 (on an iPhone 13 Mini running 18.6.2).
Apple never posted any iOS 18 IPSW files past iOS 18.6.2, so you would not have been able to update your phone through Mac Finder to iOS 18.7+, but you should still be able to update your phone to the latest iOS 18 through OTA. Yes?

Yes I ended up doing my upgrade to 18.7 (and 18.7.1 and 18.7.2) OTA. Not what I preferred but I wasn't going to stay on 18.6.2... '973137243' however said they were offered 18.7.2 in the Finder for their 16P which I was surprised because I was never offered that.

For most people the defaults make sense and I'm fine with those staying as they are, but Apple should just let us install what we want how we want as others have mentioned. Ditto not flipping on auto-update when owners have turned it off. Apple can treat iOS as firmware but it's pretty clear it's an operating system.

There was also a confirmed bug with Mac Finder iOS Updates, where if you updated through finder from iOS 18.6 to 18.7, then with subsequent updates, the Finder no longer found ANY updates (18.7+ or 26). I confirmed this with numerous people. So I updated from 18.7.2 to 26.1 on my iPhone through Apple Configurator, and I did my iPad OTA. I just now did 26.1 to 26.2 through Mac Finder on both devices with no issues.

Luckily for me, my Auto-Updates remained off...
