Apple today released minor iOS 26.4.2 and iPadOS 26.4.2 software updates for the iPhone and iPad, respectively. The updates are available two weeks after Apple released iOS 26.4.1 and iPadOS 26.4.1.

The new software can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings → General → Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, the software updates contain unspecified bug fixes and security updates.

Apple also released iOS 18.7.8 for older iPhones that are not updated to iOS 26.

Apple is already beta testing iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5, the next versions of iOS 26 that will likely launch later in May.

Can anyone confirm if it fixes the wireless CarPlay bug on 26.4.1? Ever since updating to .1 I’ve had constant issues connecting
I’ll have to test this. I’ve also been having problems connecting to my wireless CarPlay since the .1 update. Sometimes it just won’t connect and a reboot of my phone seems to fix it.

I still find this rather amusing. If that's the case, how do we know that it actually contains any bug fixes? "Alleged bug fixes" would probably be more accurate.

My screenshot to PDF feature is still not working on my work tablets. I reached out to apple support prior to the update to 26.4.2 and they said others were having similar problems. I guess I’ll have to wait to IPados 26.5 hopefully. In the meantime I’ll just have to utilize workarounds

I've had this happen randomly since RCS came out. From what I've noticed, it seems to fail mainly when the recipient is in a poor reception or data area. But who knows whats really happening......
Yep had the same off an on since RCS came out, too. No rhyme or obvious reason to it. iOS 26, though, is a buggy pos. I really hope iOS 27 really is a major bug-fix release, and not much of anything else.

Can anyone confirm iOS 18.7.8 is only available to iPhones that don't support iOS 26? Or it available to all iPhones on iOS 18 or older?
