My iPad and iPhone keep prompting me for my apple I'd password. No matter how many times I enter it it keeps prompting. Then I noticed iMessage and FaceTime would be disabled. Ugh.

Using the iPhone 5 w/o a headset gives terrible audio. Plugging in a headset fixes the issue and the audio (my transmitted audio) becomes awesome.

Definitely an issue with the phone, now that I've updated I need to test it out. As previously noted, I took the phone back to the Apple store and they did not replace it.
Did you test whether it was a microphone and/or loudspeaker issue (eg, by recording voice notes)? Does it also happen when using Skype (or other VoIP solutions)?

WOW. This is the first time a .1 software update has been a complete fail. IOS 4.1, 5.1 brought some insanity to IOS. This is a joke.

I may be feeding a troll here, but how is it a complete fail? This did not add anything, oh no, move on.

Whaaa this should have been a point this or a point that. <small violin playing>

Seriously.

Meanwhile in Mountain View they are actually adding a plethora of new features and nice updates to a minor release.

This could just as easily have been a 6.0.2 update.

meh

Thanks for sharing. Compelling stuff.

I'm confused, I thought you always could download an individual song that was in iCloud? I thought that was the whole point of it?

Seems to be limited to cell calls at this point.

I suspect it has something to do with that new noise cancellation that they're touting in the commercials these days.

It mainly happens when I'm in a quiet environment, driving not so much.

It's very clear - people I'm talking to will tell me they can't understand me, then I plug in the headset and then: "hey, what did you do, you sound perfect now!" Unplug the headset, "hey, un-do that!"

I'm not the only one with this problem, google around a bit and you'll see other people complaining of the same issue.

For some strange strange reason they disabled it in iOS 6.

It makes ZERO sense and they finally realised that so they enabled it again.

Well, then set up that hotspot and download the update in iTunes.

You have absolutely no interest in receiving the 50-odd bug fixes, a couple of which will actually improve your experience?

50-odd bug fixes except I haven't noticed any of them. Instead, I notice new bugs (iTunes screwed up some of my old playlists, black bar at the top of the screen in iTunes covering the song titles).

Meanwhile, hugely visible bugs that have been around forever -- like Home Sharing only working perfectly about 25% of the time -- remain unfixed.

I've have it installed since yesterday and overall performance, speed and WiFi is dramatically improved. I used to barely get 1 bar and in and out in my room, now I get a solid 2 bars of WiFi.

So does that mean iOS6.1 improved your wifi connection?
Or did iOS6.1 simply add a second bar to the same poor signal? Making you think it has a stronger connection

So, reinstating a previous function is considered a new feature now? Lucky us.

I actually never knew it went away. That's how much I actually use iTunes Match. I should probably just cancel now so I don't forget to do so next Fall.

So if you were using iCloud for your music, what would the songs do, stream only? (I have all my songs downloaded so I'm in the dark about this)

This seems pretty weak for a .1 update in terms of new features. I'm not going to android over it, just sayin'

Following up on the voice quality issue: I've made a few calls since updating to 6.1 and the feedback (so far) is 100% positive.

Here's to hoping this is well and truly fixed.

Wow. 6.1 blew away all my known bluetooth devices and now won't pair with my headset. I've rebooted both the phone and the device and keeps saying pairing unsuccessful. I'll try my car bluetooth and jambox tonight.

Anyone else having this problem after updating?!?

DO NOT update to 6.1 via Software Update on the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch. It messes up the jailbreak. See https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/16741166/ and the rest of the discussion.

If you've already updated via Software Update, you will have to Restore 6.1 via iTunes to perform a clean jailbreak.

Always update via iTunes if you plan on jailbreaking.

ITGuy

Damn...already updated. Thanks for the tip though!

Fixed the bluetooth audio latency issue... though now I seem to lose audio a little... only played with it for 10 min though cause I'm at work. Hoping I'm just in a spotty location.

How much battery life loss are we talking about? I personally want it for functionality.

I think it depends on what you're using it for. I can't remember exactly how much battery life is lost but I know some is, especially if you're playing a game. If you're playing a game for an hour for example, brightness halfway up on a 100% charge, after an hour you could be down to about 40-50 percent, whereas without jailbreak, you can play a game for an hour and only be at like 60 or 70 percent. Those aren't the real numbers, I just made those up, but that's just an example.
