If rotating gears in an icon are all it takes to please some of us, then well, Apple really doesn't need to provide any further updates at all. iOS 6 is ready to ship!!! :apple::rolleyes:

It's a pretty large OTA update...wonder if there will be some new features???
(taking it's time downloading)

Downloading now!

Is Maps functional now? In Beta 1 it would crash every single time you tried to type something in the search field.

That crash was caused by Facebook contacts.app integration. Disable the contacts switch in Facebook's system settings, and the search comes back. Don't need to disable any other Facebook integration.

For people in the UK, its now showing up for me so just give it time and it will appear. they are probably doing a slow roll out rather than overload the beta servers.

has anybody tried to update that has installed the iOS 6 beta 1 on their iPhone 4S that IS NOT registered with apple? if so, how'd it go for you? any issues? I'm scared its going to make my device downgrade to iOS 5, once it figures out I'm not registered with apple..

Don't worry it won't downgrade you to iOS 5. It'll just brick your phone.

Beta 2 tip for ota not showing

This worked for me...turn off WIFI and check while on 3g. It then shows...switch back wifi and download. Taking a while but the clogs are going!

I know, and then i would have to install iOS 5 on it. can you confirm that it will brick it? I'm fine with the current beta as a day to day phone so if thats the case i will probably just wait a few days until someone figures a way around it.

For those that the update dont show up. Just check, if you got enough space. I delete some data and restart ipod and it works.

ah no it wont downgrade you it will just lock your device... you wont be able to do it.. but if you dont upgrade to beta 2 device will lock anyway when beta 1 expires...

If not a member of developer program and dont have UID registered should have never installed in first place... It actually shouldnt have let you install it......
