There we go; OCD assuaged.

Perhaps there's no need for you, but others look forward to:

  • Activator and the complete control it provides over hardware buttons
  • Passcode reconfigurations for better security
  • Emulation of old game consoles (though there are some legal…ish non-jailbroken versions)
  • ByteSMS and other such system refinements

I'm pretty sure this was ignored but does the text size in notification center reflect the size set in Settings>General>Text Size?

7.1.1 and 7.1 both don't adjust NC text based on the text size chosen but prior versions did.

how is 7.1 different from 7.1.1

Mine is stuck at about 60%. No movement in last 10 minutes. Looks like it may have bricked mine.

my 5s went smooth no issues. My ipad 3 is taking longer. Stuck at 10% for a few minutes then improved to about 50% for several more minutes. Still at about 75% after 10 minutes, but making progress - ever so slow.

EDIT: My ipad finally finished. Wooot... worried there for a bit

I have a specific issue / bug with 7.1.1 -- which did not happen in earlier builds of iOS 7 -- I'm curious if anyone else has this issue. It survives a complete DFU reinstall of 7.1.1 and even when the iPhone is setup "as new" without any restore.

Here is the setup. I own a Mazda 3 which has stock (factory) stereo which is capable of Bluetooth 2.0 (Bluetooth Stereo / Audio). I connect my iPhone by bluetooth 2.0 to the car stereo. In 7.1.1, when turn-by-turn driving directions from Apple Maps are presented (without music playing) they are cut off after the length measurement. However, when music is playing on the iPhone at the same time as the directions are spoken, no problem.

For example:

(music is playing over car stereo via bluetooth 2.0) "In a quarter of a mile turn right at such-and-such road."

vs

(no music or music is paused) "In a quarter of a mile ..... *cuts out* ..."

If I switch the audio destination to be the iPhone vs Bluetooth, everything is fine, no interrupted directions.

This didn't happen in earlier versions of iOS 7. It's easy enough to play some music, toggle HFP prompts, or use iPhone's internal speaker. But, I will be interested if this problem is resolved -- seems like its a bug specific to 7.1.1

Who cares, there's really no need anymore unless you want ugly Winterboard themes or pirated apps.

Just counted, I have over 40 cydia apps/tweaks installed and none of them are themes or pirated apps. So, yeah I'd say there is still good reason to jailbreak.

I had to do the same thing.

Me too. The progress bar froze at like 60% of the way through. I let it sit for quite a while with no movement. Force rebooted and it eventually came back up with 7.1.2 installed.

I did apparently receive a phone call (missed call indicator) during the update process, so I wonder if that contributed to the progress bar failure. Baseband activity bug or something...?

Apparently tangos with pangu according to ih8sn0w

Not sure I'm going to update, literally don't care about any fixes. The one I did rpetrich took care of.

What fix was that? I have this weird lockscreen glitch where it can't see my slider or clock until I put my iPad to sleep/re-wake then it works. I'm wondering if this was a bug in 7.1.1 heard something about it

Had that problem myself a few months back. Switched to Untrusted Hosts Blocker on the Thireus repository, and it works a charm.

When you guys talk about the ads it blocks, are you saying the ones like on ESPN videos where you have to watch a 30-second commercial before watching the actual video it blocks these? If so I need that repo and name of the app again please.:)

My iPhone, iPad Air and iPad mini are all stuck at the Apple logo + progress bar  never tried this for all the OTA updates I have done since iOS 5!

Update: Home + Power button did the trick. This update is definitely not ready.

my OCD forces me to update and rejailbreak, cant have something on dated software versions out of principal :D

BE PATIENT people. It may take a while but will eventually finish. If you rebooted mid-update you may have an incomplete update and may have problems down the line. I suggest everyone who rebooted during the update to DFU restore your phone.

My iPhone 5 took a long time but eventually finished. I'd estimate 30 minutes. Some of ya'll are ridiculously impatient! Just kick off the update before going to bed or something if the wait is a problem.

I spoke with Apple Tier II Support (same issue with iPhone 5 and iPad Air) and confirmed this is a newly discovered issue. The above resolution was used to resolve my issue and all was fine, to include 7.1.2 successfully installing. They now have elevated this to developers. No negative affect on the installation other than a minor and temporary scare!

To address the person above about impatience, I waited over an hour and both the iPhone and iPad "froze" at the same stage of the second bar progression. First bar progression is the actual software update, second is the reboot phase. The second phase visually fails but is actually complete behind the scene. Don't waste your time with complete restore, as it is completely unnecessary.
