They didn't fix the lag animation on folders for iphone 4 when the "Disable transparency" is enabled.

Safari tabs

I know I'm going crazy but here I'm sitting after 7.1.2 on my iPad Air typing this comment. I have 8 apps open and about 9 tabs on safari (some macrumors that I think are quite heavy ram wise) and no refresh at all. I switched to other apps and back to safari and still no reloading. I opened some more apps like maps etc and back to safari and still no reloading. What is going on? I must be dreaming...and be back to reality in a few days #

PS: on of the apps was YouTube and I played a video and paused it half way, and it did eventually get killed while using the other apps in my test BUT 9 safari tabs and no reload

You have to enter your Passcode now, to get an update installed?
New feature?

I think so. It's nice to see Apple actively enforcing security on iPhones.

This feature was introduced in the iOS 7.1 update. So starting with the update to 7.1.1, it asked for your passcode/fingerprint to proceed.

Who cares, there's really no need anymore unless you want ugly Winterboard themes or pirated apps.

There are a lot of ugly themes, but I find round icons visually appealing.

Here facebook , 9to5mac, macrumours forum and two other forums tabs and also no tabs refresh. Would be cool if they finally fixed issues with Safari and ipad air :)

A lot of serious bug fixes underhood http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6297

This will most likely be the last release we see for iOS 7 before iOS 8 releases.

I hope not.

IOS 7 has been broken since birth.
We have authenticating proxies at work. IOS 7 forgets the password, so you are forever entering it. Its so bad I turn wifi off and use 3G data.

We submitted a bug report months ago and Apple acknowledged the fault was theirs and it would be fixed in the next release of IOS..... I now suspect they mean IOS 8.

Both, my iPad 2 and iPhone 4s got stuck at around 30% for around 30 minutes now, really bad. Should I wait or do a hard reset as well? First time this happened, seems something wrong .

Hope it fixes the safari crashing issue I've had since installing iOS 7 on my 4s.

Safari has been crashing since iPad1. Still occurs on my iPad4.
The issue occurs more often when multiple tabs or websites with a lot of data/resources are loaded.

Odd that an Apple application crashes so often on an Apple HW platform.

 FIX IT APPLE !!!

I hope so too will hold my judgment out for a few days to see if it stays like that. To me it feels as if I only have safari open which was really the only the way to have loads of tabs open with no or little refresh. However I have 20 apps open and it still works very well. Dunno what exactly is going on

Edit. Did check the support link you posted and it does talk about memory corruption in webkit. I'm not geeky enough to understand what it means.

Anyone else's 5s taking an age to update? Mine's been stuck for over half hour after the reboot.

Mine was stuck for about that long, as well. I held in the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously to force a reboot. After rebooting, my settings shows 7.1.2 (11D257) as the operating system. Guess the update worked...

I spoke with Apple Tier II Support (same issue with iPhone 5 and iPad Air) and confirmed this is a newly discovered issue. The above resolution was used to resolve my issue and all was fine, to include 7.1.2 successfully installing. They now have elevated this to developers. No negative affect on the installation other than a minor and temporary scare!

To address the person above about impatience, I waited over an hour and both the iPhone and iPad "froze" at the same stage of the second bar progression. First bar progression is the actual software update, second is the reboot phase. The second phase visually fails but is actually complete behind the scene. Don't waste your time with complete restore, as it is completely unnecessary.

Happened to me. Got stuck on the second reboot with the progress bar just shy of the middle.

Ended up having to hold the Power + Home button to restart. Looks like everything went ok.

Never had any issues with OTAs in the past.

If you have checked that link, there from 35 fixed bugs, 18 of them was related to Safari :) good news for us.

If it were only true!!

32.3MB for me on my iPhone 5s, and 30.0MB on my iPad mini with Retina Display.

That's what the tell you, unless your are doing an OTA upgrade you'll need 1.4GB.
Here's what I submitted to apple.com/feedback
"Is there a way that iOS could automatically free up sufficient memory by using iCloud backup data to recover music or photos (which are my largest memory consumers) which are automatically deleted to provide needed space to install a system upgrade OTA then restoring them after the upgrade completes. At this juncture I had to delete 20 apps (that didn't have necessary attached data) to free up the 1.4GB Needed to install the 7.1.2 upgrade on my iPhone 5s. I will probably have to delete as many apps on my iPad to install the upgrade there."

Hope it fixes the safari crashing issue I've had since installing iOS 7 on my 4s.

Is Safari crashing with certain websites? How does Safari on a Mac handle those sites? Does it seem to choke and sputter while it renders the pages?

Some sites are poorly coded and unnecessarily heavy, so that could be part of the problem.

Is anybody's touchID wonky after the update? It doesn't unlock now 50% of the time.

Mine froze with the progress bar somewhere in the middle.

I force restarted the phone and it seems 7.1.2 is installed, but oddly, although I can access the internet (MR for example) I can't access any Apple services like SWU, Podcasts or App Store.

Also Bluetooth turned itself on without my permission!

Edit: Another restart and I can now access Software Update etc,

Any reports that this fixes the iMessage issue when switching to another platform where they would hold your # hostage?
