Might not be absolutely true, but it's largely true. When new OS betas come out the developers have to release updates to address incompatibilities. They can't release the iOS 8 certified version until it the OS is released to the public.

The OP's point is valid. Don't install beta software on devices when they must work as your daily driver.

Happy to find Twitter's swipe to go back has been fixed with this beta

I suppose it's possible, but I'm not sure if this is because of some unexpected change in API. This is likely just because iOS 8 is going to behave differently and Facebook will release an update that will fix it.

There's been a few apps that break during beta, but once GM comes out, they are fine, without any app updates. Could be something to do with beta coding.

Does anyone have any answers why handoff is working for only like 10% of us? If handoff is working please list what devices you have that are working together I have an iPad mini one a Mac book Pro 2013 early and an iPhone 5s and none of them were working with handoff

It's fine between my 5S,iPad Air and 2013 MacBook Air.

and like the Professor and Mary Ann: "The Rest"....

Haha. Tina Louise's contract stated that no one's name would be read in the opening credits after hers. Thus the "and the rest....". I'm sure that endeared her to the cast.

Yeahhhh I got it to work between my iPad mini one my 5s and my MacBook pro early 2013. I deactivated my guest account on OS X and that got it to work with my 5s and the iOS devices started to handoff after I took my 5s to work with me and left the mini at home; when I came back home the 2 iOS devices were handing off like normal Hahha.

If anyone is having issues with enabling predictive text from the keyboard button (the one pictured in the article), then go to Settings -> Keyboard and then switch the 'Predictive' toggle off and then on again.

I generally get a huge number of updates about a week or two before the update comes out, really. I thought that was the norm.

I'd say at most 1, but this could be the last beta before the GM.

Even tho its like a 'three' letter word often on this forum BGR has been right about every single beta release date; therefore I believe there will be beta 6 and then a lull for 2-3 weeks and the the GM.

Anyone have an idea of how many beta's are left before the GM will be released?
Only Apple. Could be 0 could be 1 could be even 2 could be even more for some reason by some chance.

Handoff

I deleted all user accounts except my own and it works fine.

I downloaded ios8 beta and have done each of the upgrades with no problem. Today I tried to load beta 5 and my phone is locked! It keeps turning on and off and all I get is the on screen (apple) and then a blue screen - over and over and over... Any suggestions?

How did you try to download it first of all?

Sounds like a DFU restore will be needed - I hope you have an iOS 7 backup.

That's what I was gonna suggest but I wanted to see how he downloaded and installed it first so he never does that again. He sounds like he should just use OTA vs the developer seed off the site or vs any other way he may have tried to get it on his phone. I use OTA to upgrade I never have issues...

They can't fix a 3rd party app. Only the people who make the app can do that.

Baloney!

Apple breaks any API's during the betas. Some on purpose but often some by accident. If an app uses an API Apple expects to repair then the developer can't do much other than to wait for the next update.
