You know an article is written like **** when you have to google how to do multiple items identified in the article because it doesnt tell you HOW or WHERE to find some of the settings.

I have the beta iOS profile installed and there was still a 13.2 non beta update available. I don’t recall that ever happening before. I usually have to delete the profile for it to show up.

It would be nice if the Apple keyboard had searchable emojis like the Google Keyboard does

iOS 13.2 brings support for new Unicode 12 emojis, with more than 230 characters when different genders and skin tones are taken into account.

Orangutan, sloth, otter, skunk, and flamingo are the new animals included in the update, while new food items include garlic, onion, waffle, falafel, butter, oyster, maté, and ice cube.

New faces, gestures, and poses include yawning face, pinching hand, person kneeling, person standing, and new people holding hands options that are both gender and skin tone inclusive, plus accessibility-related emoji like deaf person, person in wheelchair, guide dog, and more.

Just got off the phone. Software update coming in the next few days. Apple Music doesn't work on this version. I get a message that says you're already a subscriber when I try to play a song. Can't play anything.

When I hear stories like this I am glad I don’t rely on Apple for everything and instead use Spotify for music. I guess it’s not good to have all the eggs in one basket.

I am wondering if it works for you now though considering Apple says they resolved the problem. Wouldn’t be the first time that a customer support person didn’t know what they were talking about.

And others, like notifications working randomly or (more often) not at all, push email doesn't download the body of the email until opened (which it did do in 12.x), push emails don't download without a manual refresh, push emails don't download without a restart, and most alarmingly, now, randomly, some emails simply never download, at all. That's why I just bought a used XS Max that's still got 12.4.1 on it. For corporate email this is just untenable.

I'm due for an upgrade and I'm seriously considering the XS instead of the 11 Pro because of this exact reason

If it isn't running 12.something, it won't matter. I drove all over eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire this weekend looking for one that should have 12.4 or 12.4.1. No luck, the latest I found was 12.3.1, which wasn't bad, but had a "major" security issue and (fwiw - I think) doesn't support the AppleCard. I ended up buying a used one, which is fine, but was hard to find. Almost everyone seems to have updated to 13.x.

Ugh. I didn’t even think of that. Apple should at least provide the option to roll back. I use my phone primarily for work email. I hate using my iPhone for email now.

Are you already on 13? For most of the last six weeks, it was inconvenient and annoying. Since last weekend the phone has been randomly completely ignoring some emails, which is a whole lot more than inconvenient or annoying. I can't deal with a phone that will sometimes never deliver a work email.

You're right that it's random. At this point, it's anyone's guess. I do know you can temporarily clear the problem up by rebooting. which makes me think the problem is systemic, rather than app-related.
Yeah, I noticed that too. It may be related to how iPadOS handles RAM. The apps affected by this problem seem to be apps that could take more app than other apps because of their content. Facebook, Twitter and youtube all contain lots of videos. Reddit threads may contain images or videos as well.

I'm wondering if quality software is dead at Apple. Apple has forsaken software and hardware for Apple TV and services.
It seems to be. And it’s because they insist on updating the software every year. Software should be updated no more often than every 2-3 years. And if that means waiting the same time between new hardware releases then fine, so be it. We don’t need new iphones, ipads, macs and apple watches every single year.

Still a long way to go on this mess of an iOS release but colour me surprised, the stuttering slideshow going from a screen of apps to a screen of folders of apps has been fixed in 13.2. Guess that’s one off my far too big of a list.

Is this meant to be sarcastic? Leaving an app, closing an app... same thing, right? So what is the bug exactly? Are you saying the apps *crash* when you leave them? Is it happening with every app or only some apps? The bug could be in the app, not the OS, right?

Some native apps or migrated apps behaves like that(not related to this update though). I uninstalled and reinstalled it, then it worked fine

That’s the way the market is. In order for apple to sell their products they have to keep the pipeline hot. Maybe not everybody wants a new phone every year, but Apple has done their home work on this.
