Apple also needed to release Xcode 11.2, but they didn't!
If you upgrade your iPadOS or iOS device to 13.2, you will not be able to test your code on the upgraded devices, until Xcode 11.2 comes out.

That’s the way the market is. In order for apple to sell their products they have to keep the pipeline hot. Maybe not everybody wants a new phone every year, but Apple has done their home work on this.
No, that’s the way Apple made the market. Nobody ever released new smartphones or computers yearly until apple started doing so. Now everyone else does it too because they have to compete with Apple.

Either way in 2019 there seems to be a yearly release with consumer electronics. And it’s the chicken and egg thing.

My brand new iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 13 and a new Mac running Catalina are so mindblowingly buggy, it’s not even funny.

The two have been the absolute worst releases in Apple history.

Worse than MobileMe, worse than [insert the worst product here].

Unforgivable
🤬🤬🤬
Not that it's any consolation, but David Shayer, a former Apple software engineer, wrote a revealing op-ed that explains why OS upgrades can be so buggy, and why some bugs are never addressed...

It would be nice if the Apple keyboard had searchable emojis like the Google Keyboard does

The idea is you don't need to search, but you type normally and pick them from the suggestions in predictive text. I think predictive text recognizes when it's appropriate to suggest and use emojis, like in a chat app versus word processing.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
...or iCloud mailboxes
...or notifications
...or push
...or " " (insert own mail issue)
No, sorry - Apple had to focus developer ressources on this release in order to deliver the important 230 new emoji’s.

The thinking seems to be: Stop using Exchange then! Or if you have managed living with it this far, you probably can for another few months.

The emoji suggestions only seem to work in some apps, not all.

My Mac is not yet running on Catalina, but I have no complaints whatsoever about iOS 13 on my iPhone 13 Pro. What is not working with your iPhone..?

HOW did you get an iPhone 13 Pro??? Time Traveler? 😲

Is anyone’s AirPods constantly disconnecting and breaking up after the update?

Currently unusable on my iPhone XS but seem ok on my 12.9 2018 iPad.

Tried disconnecting/reconnecting toggling Bluetooth and a hard reset but no joy.

Great article find! This article confirmed some of my concerns and raised other concerns I hoped that wasn't true. The huge reliance on manual testing is disturbing.

The perception appears that Apple is letting its native mail app atrophy and pushing its end-users to 3rd party mail apps. I haven't use the app since iOS 11 when it went south on me.

Does Deep Fusion work with photos only??

ie it doesn't matter if the overcapture for videos is left enabled?

I had this issue before 13.2 and hoped it would be fixed in this release, but sadly not.

My hunch is that many beta testers aren't reporting bugs. Participating app developers are motivated to; however, I bet that a lot of customer beta installers are just impatient fans who want the latest OS and don't provide robust feedback.

I love the new camera and this update makes it even better... This is finally hardware that can capture blur-free photos most of the time. Huge improvement over the iPhone X.

It's not necessary, analytics does the job.

Automated test works ok when programming an app, but is very difficult to test things like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, especially in real-world conditions. How would you test dropouts from AirPods in weak signal conditions? What about stuff like shutdowns on worn batteries? You'd have to automate wearing down a battery.

That's why analytics work better, they're in effect automated test in real-world conditions. If you look at Apple's analytics, they certainly are collecting a huge amount of data. I suspect that Apple simply doesn't know how to deal with it. Google has always been better in big data since their core has been search.

Solved this one in the end. I removed the AirPods from Bluetooth settings and iCloud and completely setup from new. Fingers crossed seem ok now.
