update appears snappier than ever.:D

I'm sure it is...

If anything, iPhone OS has gotten slower and slower as new updates have been released. iPhone OS 1.0 on the original iPhone was by far the fastest experience. Compared to running 3.0 on a 3G it's just insane. The OS was getting so slow that they really had to boost the processing power with the 3GS to compensate for the software slowdown.

Only a fool would honestly say that each release is "snappier".

I still don't know why they can't do the percentage on the 3G. I know that it's only a simply code tweak. Reason being is that I JB my phone and had the bat% installed. When I went back to 3.1.2 the bat% was still there! BONUS!

I called it. I said an update was coming after iTunes was updated yesterday. This update is WORTHLESS though. Lol. I thought my battery level was just fine. Lol.

Ohh, my iPhone is snappier. Lol. Yeah, right. Every update we got, we used to say that.

I'm guessing this is the last update until 4.0 this summer. We may get 3.2 in March though.

I don't see anything on this, but I hope there's a fix for the cover art issue. It seems some album covers (usually those with double albums) get corrupted and stills from my video podcasts appear in their place. Very annoying.

Hasn't been my experience. I have the first version iPhone. Guy in my office has the 3GS. Jealous every time i use it. Way snappier. My son has the 3G. Snappier. Yeah some of that is probably hardware. I'm holding out for the 4G though. Your statement is just a little too general and not nice.

Does the "double-tap Home to open the music controls popup" feature work again yet?

Mine works fine on iPhone 2G with 3.1.2. I have double-tap set to open the camera, but default to the iPod when music is playing. Works just as it should. I say give your settings a toggle. See if something doesn't clear it up.

I for one welcome 3.1.3. While it's nothing exciting, I'm still a sucker for updates.

That is because the %bat is stored in your backups if you need to take it into apple restore the iPhone but not from backup and it'll be gone ;)

I had that - really annoying. If I removed the media and put it back on, it was ok, but eventually kept corrupting. A full restore from backup fixed it.

Wow what an improvement. I love the new features. Really nice to see apple doing something with that cut they get from O2 each month all I can say is when os 4 comes out it better be worth all this wait and I better get a free upgrade when my upgrade comes in july.

Anyone else's free space increase?

Just updated and everything was normal. When the phone came back online and appeared in iTunes, my free space on the device had increased from 11 to 13GB. How strange! Anyone else experience this?

iPhone tethering

I'm still on 3.0.1 because I don't want to lose native tethering. I have never jailbroken my phone and don't intend to.

I was wondering, is jailbreaking the only way to get tethering on 3.1.2?

Which specific issue are you referring to?

If Live Updating is checked on a Smart Playlist in iTunes, the playlist on the iPhone bears no resemblance whatsoever to the one in iTunes.

I have a 'chart' playlist on my Mac (sorted by most played) which, on my iPhone, just has a bunch of completely random songs.

It's been like it for over a year I think.

Mrkgoo - am I right with my year-long estimate?

Anyone know if that 2nd bullet means the "I updated my app over the air and now it always crashes" problem is fixed?
