Unless you bought it through the App Store, in which case it is 762.1MB.

I hope Apple will be sorting out the lack of delta updates in the near future!

The App Store works like a real retail store, just online. That means, if you want software updates, you should install them via the appropriate system function.

Has someone forced you to use the App Store? No?

Thank you!! I actually found that it does enter full screen later on today when I wasn't being quite so impatient! I enjoyed your answers to my questions thought! :D:apple:

1) Click the "Full Screen" icon, then double-click on a photo to make it go full screen. The top and bottom menu bars will disappear in a few seconds - giving you a true full screen photo and nothing else - although the menus will re-appear if you move the cursor. You need to navigate using left and right arrow keys. You can still use Command-1 etc in full screen mode to do your star ratings, but Keyword Manager seems to be broken - aargh. You will also lose the full screen photo if you click on the Info or Edit buttons - so no floating palettes like iPhoto 8.
2) It's resolved, but not as good as iPhoto 8. (I want floating palettes back).
3) Possibly. But the iPhoto team still needs a good kick in the...!

Meh @ iPhoto update. I don't use iPhoto much at all.

YAY! @ Snow Leopard Font Update. I know several people whose workflows were adversely affected by that font bug.

Hmm...something seems more snappier but I can't pinpoint what...

Scrolling seems more responsive (not as jerky). When you click on an event, it seems to open faster; likewise, when you click on a picture in an event, it seems to open more quickly.

Or, it could just be my imagination?:p

About time for this font update! My Flash CS5 was screwing up badly because of these font bugs!

And for those surprised because of the restart due to the font update:
  • Fonts are very deeply routed in the OS
  • Font caches stay around if you don't reboot
  • You need to make sure all services, applications and everything that uses fonts (including the OS X GUI) is restarted. Doing all that is basically equivalent to rebooting the system
  • Rebooting takes 2 minutes
  • Think of this as one of your last annoying reboots as you will have Resume in Lion soon

:D

That may seem like an overkill indeed, but 10.6.7 did broke something in font department. That opentype problem has taken quite some time to fix. Seems that it was a complex and "deep" bug to hunt down. Good if they have found the culprit now. Thumbs up.

Agreed; a month to fix a bug must mean that the bug was complex and required a lot of regression tests to make sure that fixing those bugs didn't spark off new bugs. It is interesting that there was a security hole that was fixed in ATS which then lead to this bug (just fixed) occurring which makes me wonder whether things worked prior to 10.6.7 through some good luck rather than by actual design.

Yes and No

Just wondering does this update make any real improvement to iphoto, it's the only app. I have not installed from ilife 11

I'm still having serious database issues. Basically, iPhoto loses track of images once I've edited them (in Photoshop via the "edit" button in iPhoto). This doesn't alway happen which makes it even more frustrating. The photos are still on my drive and I can search for them and re-import them but that is pretty annoying. I've gone through all the rebuilding and permission repair steps that Apple suggests but nothing works. Also, and I'm sure that this is related, "sort manually" is completely useless. Any new arrangement of images is forgotten when the application is closed.

Some UI nonsense has been fixed some hasn't. Generally, it still feels much less polished than the previous version. I really hope that this buggy but feature rich app isn't a glimpse at the post Steve Apple.

As I mentioned above, if you haven't done so already, file a bug report with Apple (http://www.apple.com/feedback/). That's the only way to get them to know about these kind of issues. Complaining on a forum doesn't do much to fix it.

Bug reports filed!

Yeah, I've filed a bug report after each update since the problem has yet to be corrected. At this point I'm either going to downgrade (not all that easy) or find a different photo application.

Update adds OS X Lion UI changes

I'm running the OS X Lion Developer Preview 2, the new update for iPhoto adds minor UI changes that coincide with Lion UI. For example, the full screen button has been moved to the upper right corner like other Lion applications.

The appropriate system function is the app store. The update was not available through Software Update.

Well, for the update, yes of course.

I'm wondering if there is a language issue or if you responded the wrong post? Your response comes across quite aggressively in this context which seems highly inappropriate.

Scary moment:

Installed iphoto first. Then the font updater.

After restart, got the log in screen with unusual font for users' names. Selected user, entered password and the system returned to the login screen with the unusual font. Repeated this several times. Couldn't get past the login screen!

Finally unplugged computer and removed battery. Reconnected power and login screen had normal font and was able to log in first try.

Running permissions repair now which seems to be taking a long time. Next I will boot up from external and repair disk with disk utility and then run disk warrior.

I recommend backing up prior to installation and running disk maintenance before and after.

Issue with Itunes since Iphoto update??

Has anyone notice any issues with uploading photos onto your iphone since the Iphoto update? Under the photo tap in Itunes, "events" seem to be copied about 3-4 times and the photos aren't complete in any of the events. When check with the program Iphoto everything seems to be fine from there.

Filed a bug report about this, its due to the iphoto 9.1.2 update. Simple to downgrade via time machine backups, if u have a backup before updating, simply restore the iphoto app in your applications folder, and all will be WELL!

I have the same problem, I sent a bug report too
