Great. So I update to new version of iTunes on my new MacBook Air, which everything opens in literally a second, no bounces or anything. Now, iTunes bounces up and down about 20 times, then quits itself. WTF? SHould I just delete the icon (program) and re-download it from iTunes??

I'm new to the Developer program, how can you tell if it's GM on the developer page?

They usually show up under the beta tab, but it's not available there yet.

In other news, dunno if it's because I've cleaned up my iTunes library some but iTunes never were this fast launch for me.

Even better, I downloaded iTunes 10.2 from Apple.com, tried opening up the readme in textedit and that froze too. I've never had a single app ever freeze, let alone bounce, on this computer. What the **** did this update do to my computer??

The home sharing with iOS devices feature is neat (about time really), but it's a shame it only works with iOS 4.3+ seeing as I still own a perfectly functional 1st Gen iPod Touch that Apple capriciously decided to stop supporting, likely to try and force people to upgrade to newer models even if they don't need them.

I'm trying to sync my touch4g and it says preparing sync in step 4.???? Now it's holding all of my processors at 100% and the status bar is crawling super slow. What the &^% is up with the new update.

Any solutions guys?

I hadn't installed iTunes 10.1.2, and Software Update made me install it before 10.2:confused:

Apple: Please stop updating itunes. It has worked fine on my computer for years and your nearly monthly updates are infuriating me.

thank you

Hmm.

AirPlay options seem to have disappeared entirely. I've no longer got the icon at the bottom of iTunes to select my AirPort Express speakers, nor do I have any options in Preferences regarding looking for remote speakers.

Anyone got a clue?

Chris

Where's the 64-bit installer for Windows 7 Pro so I can listen to my MBP library?

Syncing my iPhone and iPad seems to take a lot longer with this update, and now I'm being told by a pop-up window that my iPhone is still syncing and can't be ejected even though the iTunes screen says at the top that the sync is finished...?

Weird--
So, I went to update my iTunes, it said ok...yeah, update 10.2 blah, and I said ok, it downloaded, installed then said ok. I go to iTunes, about iTunes...10.1.2?

Hrm...restart, check again...nope, 10.1.2

Then, I check updates on iTunes, it says yes an update! I say ok and then it says--all your software is up to date. iTunes still reads 10.1.2....

Help?

(Mac OS X SL)

Go to apple.com/itunes and download the standalone installer.

Seriously? You'd rather them not update their software? Yeah, not me especially since it only takes a few minutes for the computer to do it all by itself. Not much of a hassle if you ask me.

Are we still limited to 5 devices?

This, to me, is a huge issue with Home Sharing. As they keep allowing more of your devices to participate, they need to update the number of devices.

Capriciously? There's no other company on earth that supports its devices with software updates longer than Apple does. Your iPod Touch is 4 years old. Noone is 'forcing you' to buy a new one, but at the same time you don't buy these things with the expectations that they're going to be updated forever. There's plenty of android phones out there that don't even support a new OS updates 6 months after purchase (I've been there). You purchased your touch for the features it had on release, and you got that and more. Your expectations are not realistic.
