Is it possible you both have the 'Open iTunes when [iOS Device] is connected' setting checked in iTunes / Devices / Summary? I'm thinking the wireless auto sync / backup is kicking off on your iOS device and starting iTunes periodically...

I have just tried disabling this and it appears (fingers crossed) to have dont the trick.

Good thinking sir

Edited to add..... I knew i was tempting fate by posting that, just as i clicked submit it opened up again.... D'oh

Oh well... guess we have to wait for Apple to fix this

I'm now running iTunes 10.5.0.142 on my computer.

But I REALLY hope Apple has the assistance of somebody like Akamai when iOS 5.0 is released today. I don't want iTunes grinding to a halt trying to download iOS 5.0, especially for my iPad 2!

Ok I updated to iTunes 10.5 but when I sync my iPhone 4 it still is not giving me the "wifi sync" option. Any ideas on what I could possibly be doing wrong?

OK - so - with the 'Open iTunes when this [iOS device] is connected' option unchecked - go to preferences - devices - and check the 'Prevent iPods, iPhone, and iPads from syncing automatically' option...

Anyone know why when I install 64-bit itunes in my 64-bit windows 7, it says that I am running 32-bit itunes when it's done installing? I downloaded the 64-bit version from the Apple website.

This question might have been asked already but what is the difference between WiFi syncing and iCloud backup? I'm a little confused :D
