I would love separate apps and the iTunes app to only be the Store and nothing else.

Maybe they will. After all they did break iBooks out into its own app. As ios-ification continues it would make sense to break video, podcast and music libraries out into separate apps as well.

All that would remain of "iTunes" really would be device syncing... so why not iSync?

Hopefully it fixes the issue where your purchased playlist doesn't sync with your iDevice. All my most recent song purchases do not sync to my iPhone and iPad.
I hope this fixes the issue of me entering in my iTunes password all the time
It appears this update has fixed that issue.

So, when is the smooth scrolling Mavericks' API going to be implemented? iTunes is so janky, specially when compared to the silk which is Safari when scrolling.

Exactly! Its dreadful, particularly bad on retina MacBooks.

Wonder if they fixed the BLOODY RED CIRCLE SONG PROBLEM!!! GOD MY PHONE IS PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE! THERE IS THREAD AFTER THREAD OF PEOPEL COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ON APPLE COMMUNITIES!

Sorry for yelling. I'm very heated about this situation.

on my macbook pro 2007 with 4gb of ram Mavericks and iTunes are hell it slows down and creates this janky effect.

on my iMac 2013 8gb of ram with fusion drive, it's silky smooth.

i don't have a lot of music, just 10k songs, I know people who have easily 15x that, on their iMacs with 32gb of ram iTunes works just fine. iTunesMatch not so much.

I will bring back "iSync Apple" for you. You're welcome.

I have had an issue where occasionally, iTunes crashes at the end of a sync session with my iPhone. I thought this would specifically fix that!

Updated, and on first sync with my iPhone - it crashes and quits unexpectedly.

Thanks, Apple.

It's so weird how iTunes is its own thing programmatically. It's never seems to conform to the rest of the OS, and lags on feature adoption such as that.

This is actually the first time I've heard of iSync. I just checked it out on Apple's website, and now that I know what it is, yea I would definitely support Apple to bring this app back if they decided to dismantle iTunes and create several apps for media libraries.

Do it Apple!

That's like trying to run Vista on a windows 2000 computer...

I was hoping it would fix the wifi sync issue, but it looks like it did not. Once the computer goes to sleep, even though wake on lan is turned on, wifi sync on ios devices will keep showing looking for Mac. This is getting old. The cord has been cut but wifi sync implementation is lousy.

It is becoming sadly obvious, that the wifi sync issues are never going to be fixed.

My iTunes used to hang, crash and only sync over wifi 30% of the time. Since turning that feature off iTunes has been rock solid.

Everything in my chain is Apple.

I too am disappointed that this update does not fix that.

I'm just waiting for the day that Apple decides to make iTunes about music (or even media in general), and separates all of the other stuff from it.

There should be an iTunes Store app for Mac, like there is for iOS. Music and Videos apps for Mac, like there are for iOS. I know it would be rather ballsy because of how huge iTunes is, but Apple isn't one to be shy of change. I think it would make the experience a whole lot better.

Agreed. That is why I only really use older versions of iTunes for my music needs. iTunes 4 is still perfect in my eyes. Simple and bloat free.

While i had Tp-link and Asus routers, for me also WiFi sync worked 30% of the time. But when i have changed to Apple router, it works 100%.

Is Apple ever going to fix their USB Hotspot extension for 10.6?
Every update installs the exact same 7.0 version and I have to keep reverting to the 2.3 version.
Either fix it Apple or release itunes 12 dropping all support before 10.9.

I just wanted a good music player. And I did for a while, until iTunes 5 more or less. After that it was a steady decline in quality and practicality as a music player. At iTunes 10, I gave up and just use an alternative music player.

I certainly never used iTunes for video, it is really bad compared to just about every other video player out there.

It's ok for podcasts, to be charitable and it's ok for music... if you tolerate the bloat.

Hi Aperture01, I feel your frustrations too and have posted numerous times in the thread:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5397140?start=0&tstart=0

I believe this is an iOS 7.0.* issue as I have experienced the same issue when syncing with a 3rd party application. Really hope iOS 7.1 fixes the issue. Have tried everything including a full reset but eventually the sync (red circle) issue returns...
