Got a weird bug already. iTunes keeps opening itself every minute or so. Continues to sync constantly then crashes. Does that over and over again.

"You are listening to iTunes Radio."

The Radio "feature" is actually better than advertised. I've played with it in the 11.1 beta versions but there seems to be definite improvements in this public release. I created a station, based upon a minor but not obscure indie band in my library, and what it has played for the past two hours has been right on target. I'm a match subscriber so I've only heard two 15 second "ads", actually promos to check something out in the iTunes store. I've been able to skip songs pretty much at will. The iOS version seems to have an additional switch (a slider) to "tune" your station to "more hits" or "variety" or "discovery" modes. It is hard to tell exactly what that means yet. I don't see that in the iTunes version. It's interesting that whatever is played on the iPhone shows up in the "station" history in iTunes. There are, of course, links in both to purchase whatever is playing--or has played--in the Store even if you already have it in your library. It would be nice if it would at least recognize a song has been "matched" and is in your iCloud. Maybe in the next rev. Nonetheless, a great start.

With 11.1, the option "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" doesn't seem to work anymore. When I connect my iPad, it starts syncing immediately regardless of the setting. Can anyone confirm?

The new podcast stuff is very buggy, and they added some new bonus bugs. Sometimes iTunes crashes when starting a podcast, or when switching from one to another, more correctly. My own stations don't stay after adding the first one (which is annoying, because I have a lot of podcasts I'd like to sort). Apple will be getting a few bug reports :)

I miss the 11.0 unwatched TV Show window. It looked much better than it does now.
Any way to change it back?

Does iTunes Radio not support Snow Leopard? I can't seem to get it in the bar. (Yes I updated to 11.1, and have an internet connection, and in the US)

It's on mine. It asked me if I wanted to listen to it the very first thing. I'm on SL on my 2008 MB.

It's also under quick links on the right.

Quick links just brings you to music and stops. They must be either staggering release or they pulled it for people that just updated.

Same, I am on SL and it is not an option at all. Tried to d/l again and still nothing. So it appears that some people just got lucky on SL. Hopefully, someone will find a hack to enable it on SL since I know it is there....

I already like iTunes Radio more than Pandora or even Slacker. Its playing a wider variety of bands in the station I created. Dont like that it has a limited amount of skips though.

did they pull it?

the current version on the itunes download page at this very moment is 11.0.5 - did they pull 11.1?

want to upgrade to ios7!

maybe the system is packed or my computer is just slow, but i didn't get a notification to update. however when i connected my iphone to update it tells me i have to download the latest version of itunes, which i accept. i'm then taken to the app store, where it tells me no updates are available (there is not a loading image in the corner either).

Agreed. I put in one band name and it already has been playing comparable if not better recommendations, familiar artists and the like than Last.fm. Which I normally use. Too lazy to switch.

But when I saw the "6 skips only per hour" I got a little disappointed. I know Last.fm only allowed you around four or five skips before you ran out, but for every song you listed from start to finish you were given a skip.

I suspect as iTunes Radio catches on and the advertising money shows to have paid off? They'll be able to get new contracts with whoever it is they must...and they'll give you more skips. That being said I won't pay for iTunes Radio. So that's that.

Thanks for this, the download link on Apple's iTunes page is 11.0.5 right now, and app store says I'm up to date, so this direct link made it easy. :)

Anybody getting permission errors in Disk Utility with the official release? I had them with the beta but I thought they'd be fixed with the public release.

Whats the deal???? I'm running the most current version of OSX but I can't figure out how to do any of the podcast stations or itunes radio. All I have is Radio that is the same as it was before with FM stations and when I pick certain songs I have no option to start iTunes Radio.

itunes radio

is it down? every time i try to play a radio station i get an error message "We could not complete your iTunes request. You are not authorized to access the requested resource"

Just trying to play some Neil Young radio!
