This update improves support for syncing photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch from the new Photos app for OS X. In addition, this update also adds several refinements to the Get Info window and improves overall stability.
iTunes 12.1.2 is a free download through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

Anyone else having a syncing problem with iTunes and iOS?

Had a syncing problem since iTunes 12.0! 128GB iPhone 6. First sync it copies over all of the music & photos requested. Subsequent syncs wipe all of the none iTunes store music from the phone, leaving just iTunes store bought content behind.

Only way to successfully add music to the phone after a first sync is to factory restore (or delete the music database on the phone using third party tools). Right royal pain trying to add something new from CD. Haven't even bothered trying with iOS 8.3 & iTunes 12.1/12.2.1

What sync issue are you getting?

I did have some sync issues with my photos, I'm not using iCloud Photo Library at least not yet. It was only syncing part of an Album, and I had to sync a few extra times to remove the iPhoto sync. Quitting and relaunching iTunes fixed it. But I wonder why they didn't release this yesterday with everything else.

I don't know why the Get Info window got damaged in the first place, but I'm glad they finally fixed it. It was incredibly ugly for a month or so.

Edit: I take that back. It's still broken. Bloody hell.

I just upgraded to iTunes 12.1.2 and now iTunes will not launch at when I click the icon in the dock. I've repaired permissions, zapped PRAM and tried laucing from the Application folder. Anyone else having this issue?

Having the same problem on my 2013 rMBP. Tried launching from the application folder as well, to no avail.

Songs will appear one day and disappear hours later and then reappear later. Artists appear multiple times (For example: Ricky Dillard appears 4 times with the same spelling and same spacing)

I bought the "Into The Woods" soundtrack, took off the Compilation setting, and only 1 song appears repeatedly (For example: "Agony" is not sung by Meryl Streep but appears under her name as the only song)

Same here. I found this in the logs.

Oh damn - Yep - Same problem here! - Completely unable to launch itunes - and Console logging shows a few errors.

Odd issue where the name of my phone on the phone itself changes each time it connects to iTunes (wirelessly). The name on my phone is simply iPhone. After it seems iTunes, it changes to iPhone (insert number here). How weird. I have to change it each time. I just checked now, iTunes is closed, and it says iPhone (2).

Also, my phone shows 22.4 gigs available, yet iTunes shows 26.82 free with 12.78 used as other. Photos only shows 750 megs in iTunes (with the correct amount of photos/videos), but my iPhone shows 12.8 gigs.

I'm thinking of just restoring my phone from scratch.

Take out the iTunes widget from Notification Center then try to open it again.

ahh crap, guess I shouldn't just update things as soon as updates come out. I am in the same boat with a few of you now. updated iTunes on my late 2013 iMac 27 and now it won't launch.

I've also tried reinstalling from the standalone installer and it still does not work. Guess we will have to wait for Apple to fix it. I'm so happy that I am not ultra dependent on iTunes.

Not sure if I'm missing something, but it looks like the MR article got it backwards. iTunes still only syncs photos one-way to your iOS device; not the other way around.

Just for clarification - Is there anybody here, who have a successful install of the new iTunes release where it can be opened afterwards?
