Apple today released an iTunes 12.12.6 update for windows, with the software adding support for the new iPad Pro and iPad and addressing security vulnerabilities.

The updated version of iTunes comes ahead of the Wednesday launch of the updated iPad and iPad Pro models. The iPad features an all-new design that does away with the Home button, bright chassis colors, an updated A-series chip, and a Touch ID power button, putting it nearly on par with the iPad Air.

The iPad Pro features an updated M2 chip, WiFi 6E, and a new Apple Pencil "hover" function that allows the display to detect the Apple Pencil when it is up to 12mm away.

iTunes for Windows can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store or from Apple's website.

Great laptop, best product Apple have put out in years.
It's pretty freaking great, and I just got the base model. The color (gold) is stunning, and the display is absolutely mind-blowingly gorgeous to my unseasoned eyes. I can only imagine how nice those on the new Pros must be.

A great investment so far, and a wonderful deal at Best Buy after price-matching with Amazon and trading in my Surface along with my 9th-gen iPad. The iPad was great and will be missed, but this is on another level, especially for the price.

Same but in Space Grey, I've got a desktop also and bought it for travel really but I end up using it all the time.

I've been using iPhones for years but I am fairly new to macOS, it's mildly shocking that some things aren't already default features e.g. Facetime handoff. The way macOS was presented to me by Apple enthusiasts was that it was gonna be the most seamless ecosystem experience ever. Not saying that the ecosystem isn't there, it's just that it is slightly overhyped and it can be quite underwhelming in features and reliability.

Am I the only Mac user who misses iTunes?
I deeply miss iTunes. In general. I don’t miss any software from Apple on Windows though. We know that Apple doesn’t give a damn about anything other than the Mac. So why bother with anything on Windows? It’s just embarrassing for a company like Apple.

The only thing I miss about it was the era of downloading and owning music from the iTunes Store. Streaming can get messy at times when music is removed and the files are re-matched to other versions that we're not originally in your library. Apple Music would be perfect if they let you manually match non-Apple Music songs in your library to songs in the Apple Music catalog.
