Alongside the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.6, which came after a two month beta testing period, Apple has introduced a new version of iTunes, iTunes 12.6.2.

iTunes 12.6.2 is a minor update, with Apple's release notes saying only that it introduces minor app and performance improvements.

Today's iTunes update can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for free using the Software Update function.

iTunes 12.6.2 follows iTunes 12.6.1, another minor update that was released back in May.

I wish either in iTunes or iOS they would reenable downloading of purchased apps. Such a hassle for those of us who have no internet on our home computers. Miss that feature of iOS 8.

But you can re-download purchases Apps on iOS. Go to the App Store and tap Updates and then at the top, Purchased.

I am not sure how this app went from being one of the most seamless apps to such rubbish. On windows it's just horrible as if no one tests it before releasing it.

I just want to see an announcement:

"Apple releases iTunes X.x., a major update that fixes millions of bugs, annoyances, flakey behaviours, and isn't a pile of total crap and a nagging advertising platform to try and get you to pay £15 a month for music you've already bought (a.k.a. "Apple Music") and just bloody works. Again".

Any bets on whether Apple will stealthily update the build by a few increments within a week, without noting it or changing the version numbers that people do pay attention to?

Gotta continue the streak that's taken place for the last two iTunes releases.

This may happen.

Does this fix the mini player so the artwork is smaller? The only option is to display artwork in large format in mini player. They ruined it.
