If I go to the Upgrade my Library, and click on the Buy button, do I get charged for all of the listed items or can I buy them seperately? This is a right mess. I'm too afraid to do anyhting in case I end up paying a fortune for something I already own.

Apparently EMI has a lot of Christian artists on their different sub-labels. I have 76 singles, 54 albums and 2 music videos to upgrade. Everything from KJ-52 to Relient K or Nat King Cole to Massive Attack. I'm not gonna do it all at once (probably won't do some at all) - it will cost $173.74US.

Edit: I'm getting that error too when I try to upgrade something and turn on iTunes Plus.

Yes, so how do you do it on a per song basis?

So I had already purchased the album "Parachutes" by Coldplay, way back in Feb. '06. So I go to that album in iTunes Plus, and click it again, thinking that it would tell me I've already bought it, and ask if I'd like to upgrade. NOPE! It re-downloaded the entire album, to the tune of $9.99! Apple, get everything in place before you roll something out!

And this is why I am asking how I would upgrade my songs on a per track basis. But nobodys listening.:(

This is a good move and I have been looking forward to it. DRM, for me, was just too much of a hassle. I purchased a total of 3 songs from iTunes just to try it out. I'd always forget to unregister the computer before formatting and my number of computers I could listen on just kept dropping.

DRM free puts my faith back into iTunes, and I expect to use it. I'm probably not alone in this view.

I'm not seeing anything come up on the "iTunes Plus" page for upgrading my songs. Apple's dropped the ball on this one folks.

I'm going to "wait and see" on the upgrading... it seems that the Mac Mini they added to the iTunes Xserve farm (for purposes of handling iTunes Plus) is bogged down :p

(Also, I wish in Avanced prefs for Importing that they added a "Plus" setting to give you 256 AAC when you rip. It's easy to just enter 256 under Custom, but would be nice not to have to. The first time you rip, iTunes could ask you to choose 128 vs. 256.)

Looking at it now, I bought a DRM free track earlier and my ears cant tell the difference between the two, nor does DRM bother me one bit. So I'm going to stay as I am.

I've had enough hassle already and frankly, I've got better stuff to spend money on. Add to that fact no-one is answering my simple question which is:

If I click on the Buy button in the Upgrade my Library Section, will I be billed for all of the items on that page? If so, is there a way to do one song at a time?

Not a problem. You can deathorize ALL computers from your settings, and your 5-authorized computer count will reset that way. Then just re-authorise the ones that you are still using.

Agreed on both counts nagromme. If I can upgrade a single tonight and only get charged $.30, then I will be brave and try an album.

@joelovesapple - When I go to the Upgrade my library page, I have the option to upgrade each song ("+$0.30") in the price box. It does not work yet though.

Thanks for replying to me Chuckiej. I have yet more problems - when I use the link from within the store itself (UK) it takes me to a broken page and it isnt the same as the link from this site. What the hell is going on?????

Same here -- there's no "onscreen instructions" to upgrade my songs or albums, and I'm not able to get iTunes Plus to operate properly in any way whatsoever.

I think a lot of these problems are due to the fact that 1) they are still updating songs as we speak (ex. Pink Floyd 'Animals' is currently unavailable in the US store, but it was available DRM'd about an hour ago), and 2) their servers are getting slammed by people wanting to check out what's happening.

Give it some time people... the influx of sales is only a good thing, and will hopefully get the other labels to follow.

This transitions far from smooth and I still can't upgrade the songs I want, on a per track basis. What the heck?

They probably should have just taken down the iTunes Store this morning and do everything without thousands of people trying to upgrade their songs. A lot less headaches.

yipeeekaiyeaaaaaa!

I have 2 songs to upgrade! Stones and the Beach Boys...

Logged into my audio server and got the update, found the itunes plus link and did make way to the upgrade offerings.

When I got to the upgrade my stuff page, it was 24 sounds and 2 albums.
Instead of doing an upgrade of the initial page of albums, went with that for $5.40.

First page showed the option to complete albums. The second though offered to do the special upgrade of two full albums plus one song.

That meant:

Amos Lee, Shawn McDonald's "Live at Seattle" and one Stones song.

Amos Lee is on Blue Note. Had went there first but it had shown only the regular album. Well absolutely thrilled this is available in 256k.
It sounds on my system absolutely awesome. Loving it!

Thank you Apple and thank you very much Steve!!! :D  :p

24 sounds? What?

And I've clicked on everything and still cannot see this other page you mention...

EDIT: The iTunes plus page has now gone again from the in-store link. This is absolutely rediculous. No matter how anti-piracy I may be, but we are only just getting what the pirates have had since the Napster boom in the early 2000's.

How am I meant to shop if the door (link) is broken?
