Quicktime and its damn restarts. I'll wait to update until I have another reason to restart.
hahah, i said the same thing and didn't upgrade it yet
Woo for new 3.0 soon!
Quicktime and its damn restarts. I'll wait to update until I have another reason to restart.
ok, i bet they are rolling 3.0 out next week, so when a new phone comes out their servers won't get pounded to death.
Any word on jailbreaking with these updates?
On the side, I hope the Quicktime update fixes my minor video glitches that I get on older quicktime files I have (where it randomly pixilates the upper 1/3 of the video). Have yet to figure that one out.![]()
Because even though the new phones will have 3.0, they will still have to activate it, which requires connecting to the servers. Current iPhone users will connect to the server to get 3.0. New iPhone owners who did not have the foresight to install iTunes before purchasing their phone will have to connect to the server. This is what happened with the release of the iPhone 3G and caused a bunch of problems at the store, to the point where they started sending people home to activate the phones, since the wait time was so long.why would their servers get pounded? If/when the new iphone comes out, it will already have 3.0 on it. If they release 3.0 next week or next month, only current owners will need to download it. WHEN they release is irrelevant as far as their servers are concerned.
Dont know if this has been posted before, but I can never seem to find the Mac OS X version when looking for the QuickTime update on the Apple website from my Windows pc at work. The Apple website detects that I am using Windows, and only offers the Windows version of the update.
I usually download the updates from work to save my internet cap at home, and then copy the update to a flash disk and install it when I get home. The iTunes update also offers the Windows version first, but there is a link at the bottom of the page to download the Mac version. No such luck with QuickTime
Anybody else experience this? Any ideas where to get the update besides via Software Update?
Any word on if any of this is fixed?
EDIT: according to
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9194084
problems 1 and 3 are fixed, is everybody else finding this true? It was a real pain to go back to 8.0.2 last time and really don't want to go through that again.
Since I've updated to 8.2 iTunes has hung twice when I've tried to add content to my iPhone. Anyone else experiencing problems?
Awesome...thanx
Even tried searching for "quicktime for mac os x" on the Apple website from my pc but no luck. Will download QuickTime when I'm back at work tomorrow.
I'm on my Mac now...clicking on the QuickTime link on the Apple Downloads page only shows QuickTime for Mac
Thanks again!
Ok...no luck stillThe link above opens the webpage showing the update for Mac OS X at 57MB's, but when clicking on "Download", it then redirects to the webpage offering the update for windows with/without iTune

Could this mean 3.0 sooner than we thought?
Any word on if any of this is fixed?
OK, so I tried 8.2. Not particularly impressed.
I can reorder songs on the Shuffle, but that's all. Still can't play songs from the Shuffle. The "Add to Playlist"->iPod Shuffle item is also missing.
It's aggravating that when I update software, existing functionality goes missing.C'mon Apple! Your product line is so narrow. Surely you can do better at testing before releasing software.
I'm sticking to 8.0.2 for now.
