No change on smart playlists, still SNAFU'd. But no new problems created either so I'll stick with the upgrade for now.

That's a ringing endorsement if ever I heard one, "It doesn't fix anything but doesn't break anything either."

So windows gets a 64bit version, but OSX remains 32bit???

Is there a reason for that??

Anyway downloading the update now.

iTunes for Windows 64 bit is actually a 32 bit app. It is just the iPhone iPod device drivers that are 64 bit. This is because Windows 64 bit doesn't support 32 bit drivers.

I just filed a bug report on the mini-player issues so hopefully they fix that in the next point release.

awesome, was gonna do that after i got some confirmation from others that i wasn't going crazy, but that command is probably my single most used shortcut with itunes that i use. cheers

Will have to download this when I get home. Hopefully will fix the intermittent and random issues when syncing with my phone. :)

hopefully 64 bit won't take too long now. :)

I wonder when Apple will release a version of iTunes that isn't a complete piece of junk. It gets worse with every revision

You can finally drag album art from your browser directly into iTunes again. :D :apple:

Odd! It has been a week and I have not yet got this update? WTF is going here:mad:? I meant the next Software Update time not for this iTunes update.

Regarding the problem below, I have the same problem on my iPod Touch.

I just called Apple and they said, "we have never heard of this problem." Funny, it is in their notes for what is to be fixed with the update. Perhaps it was a lack of me providing a serial number from my iPod that put them off.

Anyway, they will not acknowledge this is a problem and that having the sort order from iTunes reflected in your iPod is not guaranteed and just the way the software works. Enjoy!

How's that for help? I think I will go get my serial number and call again.

Any one else have trouble installing this one?

I downloaded the update. Relaunched iTunes. It told me there was a new version available (again). I ran Software Update again. It tells me the software is up to date.

I check iTunes and it tells me that it is still running 9.0.2. I check Software Update again, again it tells me I'm up to date.

I've rebooted, repaired permissions, run Disk Utility on it (no problems found). Still only 9.0.2 and still "up to date".

Um, hmmm?

Answering my own question, I downloaded it again from the iTunes page on Apple and this time it worked.

So far, so good. Kind of doubt I'll ever use column view, but it's cool to have.

iTunes hangs

It might just be a case of iffy mp3 files, but ever since I've installed the new version, iTunes has has been hangs quite often -- once during sound-check, another during play and a few more when I've tried to edit the track information.

mine has been doing that since I upgraded. It takes between 30 seconds to 5 minutes from the time I hit play to when the music actually starts.

Great job guys

Before I downloaded the new SDK, my smarplaylists synced correctly. Now, they are empty on my iPhone (No Music - You can download music from iTunes), even though the settings are the same (sync the smartplaylists). Is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution to it?

password not fixed?

I have updated and I still get the password prompt on application updates etc.
Also, now it is dropping out my Apple TV again. The last update seemed to stop that, now its back again!!

I can confirm - smart playlists on my iPhone are still a complete cluster. I guess the notes really do mean it's only fixed for SOME smart playlists, i.e. not mine.

It's such a joke, I've been waiting for this for so long. I can confirm as well that smart playlists STILL aren't fixed.

Absolute garbage. I waited a month on this update from 9.0.2 before installing it for the very thought of "well, is it worth it to risk an Apple-made update?"

Turns out it wasn't. I really wanted to get the video-in-window issue fixed (many of you probably have it; where you can't control the floating scroll or volume box in a video window).

Now, my iTunes is an even slower piece of garbage than it was before. I used to at least have decent scroll speeds through my smallish (3,100 song) library but now it jumps my CPU to 100% if I try to move around at all.

No issues have been fixed. Still have the random-playlist glitch for my iPod touch, floating-controls still nonresponsive in window mode.

This update is the worse yet. iTunes for Windows (Windows 7 in my case) is inexcusably bad, even for Apple.
