Thanks for that, I'd been pulling my hair out and trying to figure out how to get the filter back ("column browser" is IMHO a really poor choice of words for that feature) .
The ability to quickly filter my library by genre is by far my favorite part of itunes.

And how can I force iTunes 9 to remember this setting for a shared library?

When I am downloading podcasts and I want to delete my trash can, it won't let me do it...Finder or any folders won't open. Safari, iCal, etc are fine. This only started happening after downloading iTunes 9... I also cannot shut down or restart my MacBook...have to Force Quit Finder to restart the computer...ugh.

Just click on the PC from your Mac within iTunes and it should display all the content in your library. Just select what you want and hit the "Import" button in the bottom right corner.

You can also click the show button and select "All Items" or "Items Not In My Library" to see what you already transferred.

You can do an Import from Mac to PC just as he describes, using iTunes on the PC.

Yes, it will work. Just do the process on the PC instead of the Mac. Make sure iTunes is open on both machines and you enabled iTunes Home Sharing on each machine.
