1st time poster. Could this update and mobileme support mean a possible iPhone update tomorrow?

Not a bad thought. They probably should release it to allow for some to weed out any bugs that might arise before the 3G iPhone is release with v2.0, Mobile Me and the push service all are active.

This is a 10.x.x update, which is always free, and it is for the OS on the mac's, not the touches, so your iPod touch is unaffected.

Guys, gals, I'm sorry ... I was just being sarcastic (which seems to have been taken seriously) ...

It's not the proper forum, so I won't get into it heavily ... it just seems that Canadians are paying a real premium for anything "Mac" or "iPhone" related lately (hence my sarcasm despite the fact that the update is "free").

... and as for the iPod touch reference ... well ... the fact that updates for the touch are now costing $5-$10 each may have something to do with that reference ...

Sorry again ... please disregard my current disillusionment towards Apple.

/e.

I can't wait for mobileme. I really need a mac, and am thinking this is probably the closest I'll get for a few years.

10.5.4 combined is 560MB

Since I didn't update to 10.5.3 (running 10.5.2, iMac 2.8 from last summer), Software Update now shows the 10.5.4 update combined as 560MB. I think I'll wait to install until some of you report back.

why wouldn't you update your mac?

The release notes indicate it adds some Raw camera file format support-- but nowhere does it list what those might happen to be.

Anyone know what was added?

I hope this fixes the issue I had with my MacBook going to sleep. It only goes if I tell it to. I have it set to go to sleep after 30 min. of inactivity but it never does; the screen just turns off. Anyone else have this problem in .3? The only programs I usually have open are Mail and Firefox.

I have this problem with my MacBook as well. I've isolated it to having Safari open. Usually, gmail will keep laptop awake, though sometimes it sleeps with gmail open. And sometimes other websites will keep laptop awake, even if gmail isn't open. I did the SMC reset and this seemed to solve the problem for only a couple days before it came bake. very annoying.

This BETTER resolve the Airport issue.

are you referring to the reconnection to wifi after waking from sleep? it usually takes a few attempts at loading a page before i get a connection back.

I just want to know if the .Mac Globe in Sys Prefs has been switched over to the Mobile Me icon yet.

Also if the Adobe CS3 issue was resolved for sure.....

This has been out for developers for a week now with no changes to the official release. SWIM has had no problems with it on his 2.8GHz Mac Pro. It's worth the update.

10.5.3 seems to have modified my battery life. It drains it faster....and it takes much longer to charge. I wonder what 10.5.4 will do to fix it.....
