I have build 11D50 and i'm still not seeing it. Does the supplemental update have its own build ID (like a 4th variant of 10.7.3)?

Nope. Build stays at what you already have.

Still wonder. Unless Akamai & Apple are really staggering this update across the globe.

Following the discussion on this thread, I became curious as to whether TimeMachine still works or not (with the new patch). So, after "cloning" my partition with another tool, I erased it this morning and reinstalled everything from scratch with TM. The whole process was a bit slow (5 hours to restore 200Gb), but it seems to work... The only glitch is that I no longer have the Lion HD recovery partition. However, that can apparently be recreated (haven't tried yet).

Apple has released a small update to Lion called Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update. The update is apparently a bug fix for an issue with restoring from a Time Machine Backup.
The update weighs in at 24.55MB and is recommended for all Lion users who have Time Machine backups. It can be downloaded from Apple's software update web page.

38 kb for the supplimental here as well. (BTW, here being a mid 2011 21.5 inch iMac - OSX 10.7.3).
I no longer keep TM simply turned off! Used to launch TM when it suited my own needs; like when making a significant change. It is a PIA, but I simply do not wish to add more 3rd party stuff to my system here. Via my own admission,, this iMac simply joins the ranks of my own little network at home, consisting of (3) Windows machines (2 homebuilts + 1 netbook), (more of a curiosity thing (as well as habit); (1) Ubuntu Laptop, and (1) conglomeration.

Explanation needed here::eek:
The different machines and OS models are in place, more to assist me in troubleshooting different combos, rather than anything else. This way the only excuse for being down here is, if my ISP goes down or I run out of UPS time available! I am moving back towards having the TM model more and more these days! 1st came the 10.7.3 mess (Having the NEWEST TM for this machine, sure came in handy!!!!

The need(s) for Apple to continue updating its movement towards 1.7.8 is QUITE OBVIOUS to me anyway.
1) Rooting out and repairing 10.7.x newly discovered problems 2)refining and repairing OS + OS related problems for the sake of (THE OLD APPLE, WHERE QUALITY took 1st place over marketing and market share ETC.
At this point in time, I have no intention of BOMBING my machine with 10.7.8, click my heels and pretend to be in tablet-land:D

STILL nothing SU for me...

Well, except for the iTunes 10.6 that just arrived.

Weird.

don't purchase large software from app store

I recently purchased os x lion on the app store and once the download got to about 2.7gb I got an error in red in the download tab so I re-launch app store the download was no longer there. I clicked on purchase os x again and it informed that I had already purchased and the download started again from zero and got the same error again. I contacted customer care and they said try again and still the same thing, they said try again and the same thing again, I complained that there is a problem with app store and a while later they said try again and finally the download went through.

This equals to 10.8gb wasted download Gb. Now I live in Seychelles and there are no unlimited Internet packages. So in total the amount of 6000.00 Seychelles rupees (about $450).

I wrote to customer care to tell them this and they offer me 5 songs on iTunes, worth about $5.00. I found that unacceptable since it was due to their error that I was being charged $450 and suggested "prosoft data rescue 3" after going through app store the app stood out as it would help me rescue some pictures I’d lost on a drive a few years ago) and a free upgrade to snow lion when it is released. Altogether, under $130 at retail price (assuming that snow lion will be a similar price as lion). They refused me this and in my frustration said that I would rather get refunded os x lion. They replied that they could do that, however I would not be able to upgrade at all in the future.

I find the way I’ve been treated the way sweatshop workers are treated, take the 50cents a day or go die on the streets. I have never felt so insulted, mistreated and conned by any company ever.

I've had technical issues in the past, where my newly purchased laptop kept on kernel panicking and after many attempts by the technicians in London apple store to repair it was unsuccessful and they replaced it with a brand new laptop that worked fine. That is good customer service as they acknowledged that the error was entirely on their part and took responsibility for it.

It seems to me that the apple I used to know when Steve jobs was still with us was one who cared for their customers and took responsibility for their errors with humility and sincerity.

Today Steve Jobs has gone these qualities have died with him.

It’s a real shame, considering all that he inspired it to be.

The apple tree is dying. :(

Sincerely

Did you install it?

Yes, it has installed. Maybe it was not appearing in Apple Software Update because I have recently installed Lion and haven't launched Time Machine even once before update.

Unfortunate situation, but ....

I don't see how you can blame Apple 100% for this? I run into issues with large downloads all the time. Thankfully, in my case, I've got unlimited broadband Internet (for about $60 U.S. per month), so it's nothing more than an inconvenience and waste of my time when it happens. But still, this sort of thing randomly happens even on Usenet downloads from the "premium news service" I use (www.easynews.com). I don't think you can blame Apple's App Store for being the actual cause of the problem?

I would agree with your argument if the failed download attempt caused the App Store to say you already purchased it, and required you to pay a second time to re-buy Lion before you could attempt another download. But that's not the case.

Basically, you're asking Apple to compensate you for the fact that you don't have unlimited Internet service. I don't think that's really Apple's problem, and apparently, they don't either. They do sell OS X Lion on a USB memory stick. Maybe you should have gone that route?

THis seems like a pretty good theory since I too have never used time machine and I'm not getting the update over SU either.
