Apple has released an update for the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, including the Retina MacBook Pro, just released this past June. The update fixes several issues:
About MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0

This update fixes an issue that can lead to increased CPU power consumption, and it improves compatibility with some USB devices.

This update is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced since June 2012.
The update weighs in at 76.64MB and is available via Apple's software update webpage or via the Software Update function built into OS X.

Apparently it doesn't work on Mountain Lion. What do we do if we're on ML?

I'm assuming we do one of two things:
1. Disregard this update because it was already baked in ML GM.
2. Wait until ML actually hits and the updater is updated (theres a funny saying) to support it.

This is great - My new 13 inch has actually been running a lot warmer than I was expecting and the battery life, while very good, isn't as good as my wifes 13 inch that is 2 years old.

Maybe this will do the trick!

Its a FW update so its not allready in ML...

Lets hope a ML FW updater will be relesed also.

I just downloaded it manually. I'll report back if my computer blows up.

Edit: Apple said shut up. Can't install on ML.

Nowhere does it say this is a firmware update.

I got message "This software is not supported on your system." I have MBA 2011 model. version 10.7. I used manual install.

Edit: The website says "This update is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced since June 2012." Does that mean 2011 models can't use it at all?

I like how the update package contains over 60MB of desktop images and user icons.
I can't think of any remote reason why these would need changing/updating...

Doing a quick check on a 10.7.4 machine without this update, they're identical in size, resolution, everything. I'm also curious what the point for this is.

EDIT: Looking further into the pkg, this seems to update Dock.app and various supporting files, frameworks, and bundles.
