It's weird seeing SMB problems since mine is fine. But I am using a raspberry pi as a SMB server. It does have custom icons for each volumes and it seems fine. Weird bug
My volumes are shared from MacOS. Maybe the issue is limited to MacOS shares. Also, the custom icons were set locally on the system that's sharing the volumes, if that makes any difference.

Have they been using the rapid security downloads at all or is that thing useless?
It was just a test during the last 13.2 beta cycle, first instance it changed safari to a different version number, then second instance it changed Safari back to what is was before. In other words just testing it worked for quick patches of macOS. It did need to reboot both times.

If you have custom icons for the volumes you are accessing over SMB, try removing the custom icons, thereby restoring the icons to their defaults. That completely resolved the issue for me.

Yes, the system should be able to handle custom icons for shared volumes, and hopefully a fix will be issued. However, this workaround might get your SMB shares back up and running in the meantime.
I am using an OWC Thunderbay 4 mini with Thunderbolt 3 connection to the M2 Pro Mac mini. I was using this same setup with an M1 Mac Mini on Ventura 13.1 and everything worked fine. I updated the M1 Mac Mini to 13.2 and it stopped working. I then downgraded the M1 Mac Mini back to 13.1 and it started working again. Problem with the M2 Pro Mac Mini is that 13.1 is "not compatible", so no way to load a previous OS. I hope Apple will fix this soon.

Yes, it appears to have fixed it. I only updated earlier today, so I don't have a long-term report, but Mail (for the first time in 3 weeks) didn't crash upon launching after updating!
I actually have been having issues with Mail crashing and it looks like maybe it's from my Comcast mail account! Fingers crossed...

What issues did you have?
For me it was both BT and WiFi.
BT would be choppy in APMax and often WiFi would simply disconnect and unable to reconnect until I moved the mac.
Same here MBP Pro M1
Bluetooth was choppy whenever I used my AirPods Pro 1, AirPods 3, or AirPods Max. Also, there was a lag on my Logitech Lift Mouse so I started using my Magic Trackpad.

I tried resetting the Bluetooth using Terminal, but it only helped for a few minutes.
I even clean installed a new copy of Ventura but the problem persisted.

After the update, I used my AirPods Max listening to YouTube video, and I think the issues has been fixed. I even might bring out my Logitech mouse again but I’ve grown to LOVE the Magic Trackpad.

I’d avoid this upgrade. This has been the worst upgrade I’ve ever tried to install on my 2020 iMac. Going on hour five of trying to recover and reinstall Ventura from scratch because it had insane errors on trying to install this. Crashed and went into recovery mode…

FWIW, widgets/notifications behavior appears screwy (can’t edit widgets, their “appear/disappear” behavior stutters, notifications don’t have an “X” to delete them, etc.). That’s after two full restarts and a full power-off/-on and a Recovery Mode re-install on a 2017 Intel iMac i7 (64 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) which, until now, has never had problems updating to the latest version.

Also was pushing CPU to max with some Notification Center oddity, so I found this info helpful:

Yeah both my laptop and Mac Studio went into recovery mode in the middle of installing this. Then they had an error about validating the re-install. I rebooted and they seem okay but what a mess 😢

And, once again, I have to update all my bleep to yet another 0.1 update because Apple can't get it right the first (two) time(s).

Lagging behind with fixes for Monterey and Big Sur... not very nice :apple:
Not really. They got a Safari update. The new one is version 16.3 with build numbers 16614.4.6.11.6 for Big Sur and 17614.4.6.11.6 for Monterey.

The security info pages https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213638 and https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201222 say the new Safari for Big Sur and Monterey are Version 16.3.1 but I believe that is an error because the new Safari for Ventura is build 18614.4.6.11.6 and has version number 16.3 not 16.3.1.

So the new Safari for Big Sur and Monterey should be version 16.3 too, not 16.3.1.

Bug report was sent to apple but they don't seem to have fixed it yet.

Yeah similar experience here as well.
Seems that the updates pushed by Apple yesterday were quite OK.

For now, my APM and APP both seems smooth now and I don't see any wifi interruption.
Same with Original HomePods - they work great now.

Still no fix for copy files (terribly slow) to Windows machine, SMB.

EDIT: Forgot to say, Try Owlfiles if you have problems with SMB. It fixed my issue for now.

Update: restarted twice and the settings were restored. All back to normal. Phew!

Apps that needed full disk access and screen recording no longer have it after updating. Can no longer allow apps to have these permissions either. Very annoying as have now lost the use of my second screen which relies on DisplayLink having the screen recording permissions.
