I'm stuck at 2.14GB of 3.42GB - About 10 hours remaining

I do not see it yet. https://support.apple.com/downloads/macos
Actually, the MacOS version in the Mac App Store *is* the combo update. You can "get" it from the store, but then you cancel when the prompt to start the install comes up. Here's a link for a clean Mohave install that gives the full instructions http://osxdaily.com/2018/09/26/make-macos-mojave-boot-usb-installer/

It should work the same for Catalina - or you can find an update to the article. I used this procedure a number of times, and it works perfectly for me. You do, however, need to run a command from the Terminal app.

I have that and it doesn’t fix the issue, the problem is the with the GPU and that’s to disable the turbo boost of the CPU.
For me it helped (I have the base 16-inch model and external 4K LG monitor). At least it reduced the noice to the graphic card's fan only. I am afraid that the integrated graphic itself is not powerful enought to handle the open lid and external monitor together, based on my experience with prior 13-inch MBP.

Just installed the upgrade and haven't found any difference.

"- Improves multi-stream video editing performance for HEVC and H.264 encoded 4K video on the 16-inch MacBook Pro (2019)" - I bet you this means the Navi chip is being used for encoding. This would be a huge improvement for HEVC. Anyone try it?

I installed Catalina a few weeks ago and I don't regret it at all! I'd been using my Mac more than ever!

Same here, I haven't really had any issues since 10.15.2 came around... besides the needless killing of 32-bit app support, but that's life. Great OS besides that.

Anybody suffering from the iCloud authentication bug? (The one where it prompts you over and over and over to re-authenticate your iCloud login). I had to go back to Mojave because it was driving me nuts, wondering if it’s been fixed...

Mail has some problems like before. Apple even can't manage to count to ten: Counting color coded mails under 10.15.2 results in random numbers for yellow, green and so on. 10.15.3 can be fooled by clicking the counted color coded mail summeries again and again and on every click Mail shows either nothing or the correct counts or mixed results. That's a small bug but it's different from 10.15.2 so they must tried to fix it and doesn't managed it. Oh dear...

I would switch the Apple Mail if it did one thing Outlook did. Separate days in my inbox. I have today, yesterday, last week and older in my main view in Outlook. Apple Mail is just here you go, sort it out.

Hate to keep harping on this, but I still cannot access iCloud Drive > Pages directory that I can access using Mojave or iOS 13.3.1. I don't get it Apple.

I just installed the update and the issue with the external monitor and the fans is still there, right now the fans are running at 3200 RPM and the machine is really hot just by browsing the web to get to this page.

I talked to Apple support (again) and now they want a video of the machine so they can hear the fans running, I can't believe that a company that just announced that made 92 billions in revenue in the last quarter can't replicate this issue on their offices. I'm starting to think that their priorities have changed, it seems that it's more important to them to become the next Disney since all I hear about is about new shows and new movies and nothing about what made Apple, Apple.......

I could not get the Catalina Patcher to work from dosdude1, so I went ahead and downloaded and updated to OS 10.15.3. Would have preferred to do a clean, fresh installation, but given how anal Apple is these days about obtaining the full installer, I chose the update route instead. Unfortunately, the "phantom" launching issue of the Brave browser I use after startup is STILL there! Yuk!

You can set up smart mailboxes for today, yesterday, last week, etc. Pretty easy to do and I have it set up that way with links copied to the favorites bar. Since they are smart mailboxes your inbox remains untouched. Since doing this I rarely access my inbox. No need.
