I'm very curious about this too. I have a MacBook Air I'm holding off on updating from Mojave until that's fixed. Please post back if you try it and it's better! Thanks
Will do. Though my issue is with an external 1080p monitor, not an internal display. Have a windows machine and a MBP attached to it, it’s just embarrassing how fonts look so much better on Windows. Anyways, will keep you updated.

Half a planet working from home so able to download immediately and lots of surprised people blaming Apple for not handling the load. I'm impressed they released it given the present situation - think I might wait a while before installing given the limited support options!

Apple's CDN fails in this exact same way every time there's a MacOS update, you can see this in previous threads.

It's because their homegrown CDN is too stupid to precache. What appears to happen is that as load goes up, the leaf servers overload the root servers. That's why the early parts of the update download OK since they propagate through the network, but it gets stuck halfway through.

I didn't know of the head pointer feature before. It's actually pretty cool to try out. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Alternate Control Methods > Enable head pointer. Enabling this turns on the camera and allows you to move the mouse pointer by turning your head.

What about all the bugs in Mail.app and Photos syncing to iPhone using the finder? They should already be fixed, but it seems they aren't. What is wrong with Apple?
I tried out the beta a few weeks back and syncing to an iPhone using finder worked like it did a year ago. It randomly re syncs more photos than it needs to but it all happens instantly instead of hanging for hours first. Not sure if it made it into today’s release though as I’m still on Mojave until it’s confirmed to be fixed.

Why is that nowadays Mac OS updates take way too long? They used to take 10 minutes, now it's half an hour at least. Installing the OS for the first time on an empty disk even takes less time than this.
