20 - 30 minutes for me (2018 MBA), download plus install, did not time it
must be the download speeds
It depends on the individual's specific usage case. No one here knows about yours.So is it finally safe to install Catalina? Or does it remain a hard-pass?

LOL my iMac failed to download it six times "because the internet connection was interrupted". Now it is finally downloading, but extremely slow. I'm at 1,49GB out of 8,23GB with approximately 5 hours remaining 😂
This is after downloading and verifying the update package....
Sitting at an Apple logo with a lone progress bar slowly scrolling by.
Just rebooted with a dramatic huff of fans and now it say 8 more minutes.
When I using an app in fullscreen. My second screen is black. When I am not in fullscreen, I will see both monitors.

OK it has finally started DL again. I wonder if the servers are all just overwhelmed?
Enable "Screens have separated spaces" or something similar in System Preferences -> Mission Control.
