Apple Releases macOS Golden Gate Beta 7

These are still betas. The GA builds are usually classed as RC following the MICROS~1 nomenclature.

Just one question, is it easy to disable this a.I rubbish and is doing so will stop Siri being in spotlight? Also, will it stop the A.I in the photos app or any other app for that matter?
I may stay as I am to be honest, I presume it is possible to stop Macs downloading and reminding me about an update for a new OS, but still update the older one if updates are made.
I already have it set to tell me about updates, but allow security updates.

There’s no turning it off, but you can enable and disable the apps you want to be searched by Siri. Turning off the ChatGPT extension makes Siri requests faster FYI.

Are the traffic light window controls still cute or did they make them boring again? The answer to this question impacts whether I upgrade my Mac from build 26A5416b ever again.

lol.. Outlook crashes when opening now... so weird for something like that to start happening this late in the beta cycle

They're still cute in Apple's apps, but I just noticed that some non-Apple apps, like the Chrome web browser and VLC, are still showing flat traffic lights, but that most of the non-Apple apps on my Macbook do use Apple's new version.

I just read the release notes for GG beta 7, in the Feedback Assistant app, which is the first time I've read any of the beta release notes. There are some interesting bug fixes (a lot) and changes listed there. For instance, macOS will no longer natively support DVD playback using a connected external DVD player and Apple's DVD Player app, since this is listed in the release notes:

In Tahoe Ai and Siri can be turned off, surely they have not taken that option away?
If so then I will certainly be staying with Tahoe.
I would prefer Apple to fix its current mess rather than add more trivial features.

Because it's so much better on linux ... It will be a cold day in hell if I start switching operating systems based on such "logic".

So are you saying that it can't be turned off or disabled in IOS? Wow, i thought Google was bad, but at least it is possible to turn off the AI and Geminii/GoogleAssistantt on Android phones. Um, that certainly puts me off even looking at a Iphone for my next phone, when I update. Mind you the price puts me off anyway.
Paying over £150 for a phone is not me.
