How about the bug that makes Mail unhide itself randomly since Yosemite?
Happens to me all the time in Mojave.

Hopefully this sleep-bug-fix means I don't have to unplug and plug back in my USB keyboard to get it to recognise keystrokes so I can unlock after sleep...

Previously, I could put my Mac Pro to sleep immediately with the 'hot corner' spot, and it would wake up when I moved the mouse - taking maybe 5 seconds. With the 2018 Mac mini, if I put it to sleep, I can move the mouse and click its button, but nothing shows up on my display. I have to press a key (Return) on the keyboard. The display wakes in about 5 seconds. My mouse is a Logitech wireless, and the 23" ACD from 2008 is connected using an adapter with the DVI port on one end and thunderbolt on the other.

My iMac has the opposite problem. Mac won’t stay asleep sometimes
Same with my Mac mini (2018) at times. Maybe more so when it has not been restarted in some time.

My LG monitor is connected via USB-C to my Mac mini and half of the time when I wake the computer from sleep, the monitor wakes up and displays a black screen with a message “no signal”.

Wondering if this update fixes it, the description is quite vague...

2018 mac Mini?

In a clients office they have 3 2018's and they show static and have crackling from the monitors when it wakes up from sleep... Hoping this fixes it!!!

Sucks but I’m at least happy I’m not the only one. A restart fixes it.

My Mac mini does that too. Resetting the LG monitor brings the display back to life.
It has been a while since I have sen this though. More recently, my Mini just crashes after wake.
I hope this is resolved.

I used to see another bug: full screen video leads to a black screen. This update, so far, seems to have fixed it.

Did the update get pulled? Ive been beta testing mojave updates for a long time now and constantly saw the catalina upgrade in my system preference. I just got around to doing another proper backup and was all ready to try Catalina but the upgrade no longer shows up.

So, I own a November 2019 MBP with Vega 20, i9, 32gb fully spec’d out minus all the SSD. I also have it hooked up to an eGPU Vega 64 and 4K Dell IPS monitor. MBP is mostly closed lid unless I need the extra screen.

I’ve had issues with it waking up from sleep so many times. I’ve called more times than I can remember. The temporary fix was to do an SMC reset & PRAM reset. It fixes the issue for a few days then the same thing will happen.

Hours into this update I can say that it has not done it and I am praying it’s finally fixed!

950 MB for "Wake from Sleep Bug"? LOL.

We do not know how much coding/ recoding it took and in which areas, but yes, to amount to 950MB it does seem funny at first glance.

Do you remember if the issue occurred when connected to power or when not? On my 2017 MBA, on Catalina beta 5, this bug does not occur when on battery, but occurs when connected to power.

I found that just turning the monitor off and on again has the same effect as a reset (minus loosing* settings). I recognize that second bug too, super annoying.

My guess is this would not happen over DisplayPort or HDMI, just USB-C, which happens to be exclusive to the most recent Macs and monitors.

I’ll need a few days to determine if the bugs are resolved as they only appear about half the time.

Yes, the 2018 (which is the only one with USB-C). Very annoying indeed.

*As noted by @dickie001x who went through the trouble of sending me a private message, I made a typo here.

Great… but really not sure why it needs 1GB to effect this tiny patch.

Let's say, for example, that some low level system call is modified so that it takes an additional function argument, and let's say, for example, that said system call is referenced in multiple places throughout the OS. That can involve recompiling a whole suite of large binaries.

I'm not saying that's what actually happened here, but you simply can't equate a seemingly small change with the size of affected binaries.

After installing this supplemental update (an upgrade from the base 10.14.6 version, I believe) on my Macbook Pro, the mid-2012 15-inch Retina version, when the startup progress bar beneath the Apple logo is around three quarters full the screen goes blank. I have tried to be a little patient, but thirty minutes in the machine is warm and there is no progress to be seen; an HDMI-connected screen remained blank throughout. Force-stopping the machine and disk scanning from the recovery mode shows no problems; NVRAM and SMC reset attempts do not seem to have helped; I have yet to try and wait more during the boot attempt, but my optimism is waning. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed before attempting a reinstall (and in that case, how could I make updates stop at the previous patch of necessary?) or any experiences upgrading this computer model?

Shoot - this is an 2011 iMac and therefore can't run this release - I had thought I was hanging back intentionally and as it turns out this particular machine was never eligible to begin with...

Hopefully they'll look at High Sierra and back-port the fixes... not holding my breath though.

(Yes, I know, it's been time for a new iMac for a while now. Certainly have been getting my money's worth out of this set up [2 x 27" screens, SSD] for a while now]

Some people use DosDude's patch to get Mojave working on unsupported Macs with great success apparently. I'm considering it myself.

I only had the issue whenever it was docked to my eGPU which gives it power. I also want to acknowledge the person who said the other fix was to turn your monitor on and off to fix the problem. That also was a fix to the problem but a pain in the A$$. I just woke up after it being in sleep mode for many hours, tapped the spacebar on my apple wireless keyboard and low and behold it woke up properly again. This problem could finally be gone thx to this patch!

This has been biting me hard - I thought my iMac had finally died. Set it to never sleep, this is super good news...

(Well, it never should have happened, but glad to see a fix!)

Same! I thought my iMac logic board was dying on me but the issue magically stopped when I plugged it into my router via Ethernet instead of using Wi-Fi.

I also tried save boot and it did not work but reinstalling has luckily seemed to have done the trick. Cheers!

Maybe my post was misunderstood - I have no problem with either my display or my Mac mini as long as I know the display is asleep, and moving the cursor away from the sleep 'hot spot' before pressing a key will result in the awakening. Although I cannot see the cursor when the display is asleep, if I don't move the mouse first, the display may not wake. Initially, I thought it was not waking and did a hard shutdown. Then I thought the connection was not functioning properly, but when I pressed the sound button, I heard a response and knew the display was off, so I disconnected and reconnected the thunderbolt plug. Now I realize I only have to move the cursor and press a key on my keyboard, probably because Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off is checked.

No update is needed. Enable Power Nap is checked.

Back with my 2008 Mac Pro, with El Capitan installed, the progress bar would stop about halfway from left to right, and the screen would blank for a second (a blink). With my Mac mini (2018) it still pauses but does not blink.

FWIW, I had a slow wake from sleep problem with my 27" 2011 iMac. Spent weeks with Apple on the phone about it, and the issue turned out to be a bug that appeared in 10.13.6. They acknowledged the bug, and said it would not be fixed as the team had moved on to Mojave updates.

My solution was to reinstall High Sierra, and update to 10.13.5 and stay there. Certainly not my preferred solution, but it worked.

The mail bug is so annoying that it would just hijack half of my screen randomly when I am in full screen mode on another application.

Any advice on how to get the dang beta to show up? Keeps telling me no update available. I have the beta profile, the software update recognizes I have the beta profile, but it doesn’t seem to see the upgrade. I have tried removing the profile, restarting and then adding the profile but still no luck.

Which beta are you trying to get? There is no Mojave beta, as far as I know. If you are trying to get to Catalina beta, please see if you have the correct profile installed.
