Yes, it appears so. I have installed 12.3.1 on both an intel Mac mini and a M1Max laptop which were having the smart object issue and it has fixed that bug which came in with 12.3. I can't speak for other bugs that may be an issue for others.

sorry havent skimmed the thread, but what's the short and skinny on BT issues in 12.3 can anyone describe?
I just had an unusual issue with this update. When I booted my Mac mini this morning, I immediately got a notification that the update had already been downloaded and the computer was ready to restart. Even though I have auto updates turned on, this was the first time it actually worked. But then when I clicked "restart", it brought up the System Preferences update panel and asked whether I wanted to download it. So I did. Then it went into a loop, repeatedly asking me if I wanted to download it. So I quit Preferences and instead went to MacRumors to see if anyone else was having this problem. As I clicked on this article, my screen went black and the update began. Weird. Anyway, I'm on the other side of it now and things seem to be working okay.
I think the release notes specifically point to BT Game Controllers losing connection, but I'm pretty sure 12.3.1 also addresses the stuttering with there Apple Magic Keyboard. I've had issues getting my Apple Keyboard to reconnect after waking from sleep while in clamshell mode, too. Just installed 12.3.1, hoping it addresses all of this..
I had a similar issue updating. Was prompted with the update, downloaded it, and then when I selected Restart it just downloaded it again... But it looked like it was hung up, so I restarted. Then I started the update process again and selecting Restarted actually rebooted and continued. This has happened to me on a couple of the Monterey updates so far. Really hard to know if it's "normal" or if you're going to break your machine lol

Mine seems like its been fine from 11.6 directly to 12.3 couple weeks ago, as far as I can tell... on 2020 M1 Air.

I use 3 monitors, 2 DP, one HDMI. Without fail every single update has broken the HDMI display leaving me to try combinations of unplugging monitors, rebooting, booting with JUST the HDMI screen, then plugging in the DP monitors to get all 3 working.
The last major update I finally had no HDMI issue, but now it was my DP screens that didn't work. So I saw this update, and like a sucker thought "Apple FINALLY figured out how to make monitors work on their computers!". Silly me, of course they didn't, that would be too much to ask...
Install this update, after 30 minutes of waiting it finally gets to the login screen and shocker, my HDMI monitor doesn't work again!!! So just like always, I have to power down, unplug all my monitors, boot with JSUT the HDMI monitor, then plug in the others.

Don't know if it'll fix much of anything on my 2017 MBA, but there was a brief moment of concern after the update and during the setup process when the sign-on to iCloud window appeared, everything was grayed out and I couldn't get my cursor to either allow me to insert my password or operate any of the window's buttons.
Finally I said, "Screw it" and did a power-off hard reboot. Desktop came up with no issue and checking, everything fine with my iCloud sign-in, too.
Fun.

Hi All, I have been having severe issues with very high CPU usage on my 2018 13" Macbook Pro since I installed 12.3 on it last week that's making it impossible for me to do anything. On checking Activity Monitor for what's causing this, it's mostly caused by the kernel_task Process which has even gone above taking 700% of CPU on my Mac. I updated to 12.3.1 but don't see any changes. It seems that there's an issue with overheating or something but not sure. Do you know if there's any other solution I should try to resolve this? I tried resetting SMC and NVRAM several times but no improvement to the situation.

Yeah, I've been looking at Activity Monitor regularly and it's basically the kernel_task process with PID 0 that's taking a lot of the CPU. Sometimes it has even gone above 700% of the CPU when checking the Activity Monitor. What to do about it though? I resetting the SMC and NVRAM several times thinking that will improve it but no change.
Too bad they can't fix the defective Bluetooth chipsets in circa-2015 Macs.

It's not worrisome. That's just the configuration where the bug was reported in Beta. That's how SQA reports bug fixes.
So far so good. My mouse hasn't disconnected once. Before the update it would reconnect constantly. Or, if given enough time, disconnect completely and not reconnect until the bluetooth daemon was killed.
Who knew how productive a working mouse could be!

Apple today released macOS Monterey 12.3.1, a minor update to the macOS Monterey operating system that launched in October. macOS Monterey 12.3.1 comes two weeks after the launch of macOS Monterey 12.3, an update that brought Universal Control.
The macOS Monterey 12.3.1 update can be downloaded on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences.
According to Apple's release notes, macOS Monterey 12.3.1 introduces a fix that could cause Bluetooth controllers like game controllers to disconnect from the Mac after playing audio through some Beats headphones. It also addresses a bug that could cause USB-C or Thunderbolt external displays to not turn on when connected to the 2018 Mac mini as a secondary display.macOS Monterey 12.3.1 also addresses two vulnerabilities, including an AppleAVD issue that could allow an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges and an Intel Graphics Driver issue that could allow an application to read kernel memory.
Apple says these exploits may have been actively exploited, so it is a good idea for all users to update as soon as possible.
Today's macOS Monterey update was also accompanied by iOS 15.4.1, iPadOS 15.4.1, tvOS 15.4.1, watchOS 8.5.1, and new 15.4.1 software for the HomePod.
