can anyone confirm that this update is safe for download and that it won't brick your system like the previous update did?
Nobody can confirm that until it's been installed on Macs with every conceivable combination of software & hardware.

For what it's worth, it hasn't bricked mine, but then 12.3 didn't either.

I hope this also fixes the issue with Quick Previews. After a while, hitting the space bar only shows a tiny thumbnail instead of previewing the file as it should. The only way to fix this is to restart Finder which is frustrating since it will usually close all Finder windows.
I find relaunching the Finder brings back Quick Look. I wonder if it's a memory issue?

Another possible memory issue: if I use Photoshop for too long without quitting and relaunching it, it will stop bringing up any Save or Save As dialogues. So if I don't pre-save an image I'm working on, for example a RAW file converted from ACR, I won't have any way to save it if I get stuck in that predicament. (Sometimes I'm lucky and there's an autosaved version after I force-quit and relaunch.) This has plagued my new M1 Mini since day one (Monterey 12.0 IIRC).

restarted computer and checked for updates and still saying im up to date 12.3
running iMac 24" did this get pulled or only for certain Macs?
Like I said earlier in the thread my M1 Macbook Air got it but I haven't seen it yet on my M1 iMac. So I don't know what's going on.

Thanks will take a look at that. One more question: do you leave it and Mac on for days at a time- just sleeping Mac?

And anyone else got this particular RAID box on an Apple Silicon Mac without the unexpected eject issue? The RAID box I have now is perfectly stable on an Intel Mac but will not stay connected for more than a few hours to the new Studio, even if I don't let Studio or the drive sleep. I've assumed Monterey (my Intel Mac isn't upgraded to Monterey) but this makes me wonder about Silicon (which would likely still be a bug in Monterey of course).

I hope it fixes the issue on my M1 Mac mini where the 27 inch ACD loses brightness control (connected via USB C to mDP dongle). Very very annoying, problem didn't exist at Big Sur.

Also the second monitor via HDMI somehow keeps flickering when computer wakes from sleep. Sometimes it keeps flickering for a few minutes, sometimes it works instantly.

For now my Mac mini states that it is up to date even though it is not.

HomePod, watch and iPhone / iPad updates all downloading or completed but still can't see the 12.3.1 update on either of my Macs (2020 M1 Mac Mini & 2021 14" M1Pro MacBook Pro) in the UK

Yeah, years really. Never turn either off, just restart the Mac for any OS updates. Otherwise just Mac sleep.

Well, update done and I'm hugely relieved to see that the issue is fixed and both my USB-C monitors are working again on my iMac.

As above, a little alarming that they've managed to fix it without even understanding what they fixed, but I'll take it.
My guess is thats their way of saying the typical "a small number of users were affected..." by insinuating the problem only affected this specific machine...

I suspect you're right. Just the one year model of Mac mini via an obscure connection, nothing to see here.

Anybody got a HDD-based, RAID-0 DAS (not NAS) that is maintaining a consistent connection to your Monterey Mac? If so, what model do you have? I need a dependable RAID.
I've got an Areca 8050T2 (Thunderbolt 2) 8-bay hardware RAID connected to an M1 Mini via TB2/TB3 adapter. No connection issues of any kind. Been staying current, but this update doesn't show for me yet.

You running SoftRAID? Could be sw vs. hw setups...

EDIT: RAID 6 for me, not 0. Been burned once that way, never again! ;^)
