Then switch to Windows, they even let you do the alpha testing ;)
I had a machine on Catalina and another on Windows 10. People were complaining about Catalina being unstable. When I applied Windows update 1709, it completely obliterated my machine and I had to re-install everything.

I wish Apple would be more careful, but i haven't seen that kind of care since Avie Tevanian left the company.

can you handle the truth ?
if you find out what one of the bugs are that I dearly hope has been fixed because it does affect all uers, are you going on a insanity rant fest ?
I can "handle the truth"; can you? Why "are you going on an insanity rant fest?"

You can just upgrade after X.2 releases are out.. it's not like Apple is holding a gun to your head.
Or do like I do: Update to the new operating system towards the end of the cycle, in may, during the WWDC, or even after the release of the next macOS.

I have been doing that for the last major versions of iOS and macOS and so far, so good

That’s basically the wording they have used for decades. You can usually find out what many of the updates are if you poke around a bit.
Right, why have they been using this "wording for decades"? Also, I shouldn't have to "find out what many of the updates are by poking around a bit."

My M1 Pro is obsolete apparently
Available, though I am still using Monterey on my M1 Pro.

It's being installed now. I love the "5 minutes remaining" that lasts for 20 minutes.

Glad to have the latest fixes. 14.1.2 didn't feel quite right, although it's been reasonably stable.

Looks like the Mac-iPhone sync issue remains active after updating to 14.2.1. Stuck on step 2 like before. The workaround I read on this or another forum is killing the process MDCrashReportTool using activity monitor. Apple goes worse every step they take. I am a little bit fed up with these "two step back - one forward" releases. If it works, don't fix it.

It fixed an issue where my photos app kept saying "40 items downloading" and I tried everything to fix it. Weirdly though, I got a message saying some updates could not be installed when the Mac rebooted .

The 14.2.1 update also fixes some bugs introduced in 14.2 which affects Adobe Lightroom and other apps that allow tethering with cameras.

I believe that after the update the screen blooming on my 2023 mbp got worse.
I use topnotch, so the menu bar was pitch black...
After the upgrade the menu looks grayish arround white text or the pointer.
I can see the notch and the edges of the screen which was not an issue before.
Anyone else with the same problem?

It fixed a major problem for me. I was having issues with Lightroom Classic. When I tried to import pictures from my iPhone, the iPhone would not show up in the import menu as an option, even though I can see it in finder and import into other apps like Photos. Now it is fixed. Thanks Apple.

I more often than not get “20 minutes remaining…” and then it’s done in 5 ;)
I agree, these estimates are not very helpful anymore…
