The "All About Customization" OS STILL is not giving me the option of using a folder of pictures for my Desktop Picture. No wonder the schmuck who inflicted this S%^t on us left Apple for FaceBook (where he is already screwing things up-try logging out of FB and see the extra steps you have to take to do so). Really Apple? It may seem like a little thing but when you take away a feature that has been present for decades it is not so little.

This is bizarre indeed. In 26.2 it was still there.

While trying to update to 26.3, I keep getting this message... I have never seen an error like this before. Does anyone know what it means? And my internet is working fine. 🙁

Touch ID and unlock with watch no longer working after updating MB Air to 26.3 and updated iOS/watchOS.

Tried deleting prints, reboot, add new prints without success.
Oops. Same here. Just realized that I also had to type my password after waking up my MBP. Nasty bug.

I got this once before. This error typically occurs during the preparation or installation phase after the update has (partially) downloaded. "Personalize" refers to Apple's process of tailoring the update package to your specific Mac—verifying it against your hardware (especially on Apple Silicon with Secure Enclave/T2 chips), signing it cryptographically, and associating it with your device identity/Apple ID. If that step fails, the installer aborts.

Common triggers for this are temporary internet glitches, interruptions, or restrictions (VPNs, firewalls, corporate proxies like ZScaler, or even ISP issues) during the personalization handshake with Apple's servers.

1. Make sure your network is stable.
2. Disable any VPN
3. Restart the Mac
4. Try again

If it still fails, you can try in Safe Mode, or download the installer from the App Store.

90% of the time the spotlight Apps window needs to repopulate all the app icons... why doesn't it remember/cache them? (happens all the same in Finder btw)

Also: Finder still has niggles from when you switch from dark mode to light; if you have Finder tabs open and cycle through them some of the elements like Search or Back and Forward buttons are still set to Dark and have to quickly 'catch up' to the fact that everything else is set to light mode already.

Let's face facts Apple, the guy who designed Tahoe and all its "features" actually sabotaged the Mac OS and now he is off at FB mucking it up (try logging out of FB on your iPhone-he's added a couple of extra steps to make it more frustrating to do so). Tahoe is the Ford Explorer (Exploder) of Mac OSes. Hey Apple the Mac is not an iPhone or iPad and if you think Tahoe somehow makes our lives better you need to stop smoking whatever you're smoking. I wish I had never upgraded to Tahoe but given my business is supporting folks who use it I had to. What a sh%^show.

Totally agree.

I had the joy of finding my old MacBook Pro Unibody running 10.7.4 - OMG, how beautiful is that OS compared to todays abomination?

Meh, I actually like liquid glass. The extreme rounding of corners could do with a bit less to my taste, but apart from that I just want them to iron things out.

Really annoying honestly. I genuinely dont know how these problems are there after months..

The dark/light mode thing happens on iOS too, slightly differently, and the icon thing also exists on iOS, again, a bit differently. Maybe they share these functions on a deeper level, i dont know, i’m not a developer.

For me, Finder is constantly changing the list view and icon view when i browse folders, really ****ing tired seeing it.
I am in the Utility folder-> icon view, switching to Applications or any other folder, going back to Utility, its the details/list view. Same thing with differend folders, then they revert randomly back to icon view.
Why. Just why.

Update: Do you have a separate local admin account? I'm working as a standard user - after logging into the the admin and going back to my user Touch ID is back. (Got the soloution from Apple discussions) 🙂

Looks like Apple improved performance.

In addition to the Facebook drop down menu for comment listing options disappearing after 26.3, now the Safari tabs have started disappearing again if left open for 20 minutes or so.

So fed up with Apple right now.

Has anyone else been having problems copying from DMG files to /Application, since up(?)grading to 26.3. These have been stuck like this for about 20 minutes 😮

I solved the issue by restarting Finder with `[Opt]-[Right Click] -> Relaunch`and I was then able to eject the DMGs. It seems that the notification of when the copying has finished, is broken 😞

Or it's only copied some of the contents in the app package...
All 3 apps started perfectly after I did the Finder restart. It doesn't surprise me. There have been a number of HoL (hassles of life) issues, like the mouse pointer suddenly vanishing on one of my monitors. All of these , I'm sure, have been since I moved to 26.3...

There's definitely a problem. I've just tried to update Google Chrome from the DMG, and the same thing happened. Strangely, I was able to drag the `.app` file from the DMG into my Downloads folder and the move it to /Applications with no bother whatsoever, so that is gong to have to be the work around until (perhaps) 26.4 😮
