Whatever happened to Rapid Security Responses, which now appear to be named Background Security Improvements? Are they still a thing?
I'm rooting for Japan.Update. Probably end up 2-1 or 3-1 (already tied now as I type this)

Yeah unfortunate, but good game nonetheless. Cheers.

You can install the Golden Gate beta on a separate APFS volume and not have it affect the current installation of the OS. If you don't like Golden Gate beta you can nuke it in disk utility and reclaim your disk space.i wish i could just go macos27 beta but am afraid im gonna screw something up, macos26 feels pretty poor compared to Sequoia.
Same here.Still hold on 15.7.7 💪🤓
That's what I'd do: walk away and do something else. The longer you watch it sit there the more paranoid you get!I have two computers updating at the moment. Both got stuck at the "About five minutes remaining" for the past 25 minutes. I'll let them keep having fun doing their thing.
I appreciated the former combo updater. The combo was my favorite way to upgrade all the family’s Mac computers, most of which handle audio or video projects.Back in the days, I remember downloading the combo updater and ran it on top of the 'new' version just for reinsurance.
A decade ago, no problem. Today, nope. We wait for 27.4 at least.i wish i could just go macos27 beta but am afraid im gonna screw something up, macos26 feels pretty poor compared to Sequoia.

I on macOS 27 beta 2 and it working pretty flawless and feels better than macOS 26, you check the working and not working post first if there are software that you relied on, Little snitch does work except for the beta but you can replace it with Lulu in the mean time, it kind of work. All my day to day and work software work just fine.i wish i could just go macos27 beta but am afraid im gonna screw something up, macos26 feels pretty poor compared to Sequoia.
You may want to look at using one of your Macs as a cache server (system setting) that way you can download once and all your other Macs will use your cache server to update.I appreciated the former combo updater. Now I rely on the Mist app to download the full installer and build a USB installer. With fast internet, the 18GB file downloads in minutes, and Mist transfers it to my Ultra Dual USB thumb drive quickly.
Since I oversee updates for at least six computers at home, this method seems reasonable—typically booting in Safe mode for installation.
Thanks for the info. I have been doing that for years, but imagine there are folks who do not know about it.You may want to look at using one of your Macs as a cache server (system setting) that way you can download once and all your other Macs will use your cache server to update.
