Apple Releases macOS Tahoe 26.5.2

Hope they fixed the issue where I can't airdrop from the phone to the laptop, but I can airdrop from the laptop to the phone. It just refuses to 'find' the laptop no matter what I try to turn off/on, etc.

Yet they still did not fix the battery drain issues, performance issues, computer wake issues and many others that essentially made this absolute cluster**** of a release unusable on still-supported Intel Macs.

I am convinced that it was a deliberate move by Apple and that sucks the most.

i wish i could just go macos27 beta but am afraid im gonna screw something up, macos26 feels pretty poor compared to Sequoia.

9 to 5 Mac (Jeff Benjamin) did a great video on YouTube (

) that shows you how to install the macOS 27 beta on a new volume on your existing Mac. I followed the instructions and installed 27 alongside my macOS 26.5.2 volume. It works great. You can pick which OS you want to be default when you resstart your Mac or on my M1 PRO MacBook Pro you can start it up holding the power button continuously down while booting up to get to the startup options screen and then choose which OS you want to boot up.

I remember installing new releases on discs and developer builds required downloading a new ISO and burning it every two weeks for a complete installation of every new beta for 2-3 years. It ensured proper core OS testing without third party apps being an issue.

I miss that Snow Leopard intro.

Same for me. And I miss the "Cover Flow" Album Artwork view in the old iTunes (Music App). I wish they'd bring that back.
