I'm seeing the Ventura "upgrade" to 13.4.1, but not the Monterey update (yet). Since Apple has been rather lax in back-porting its fixes to the older OSes lately, I suspect the coincident release of this one means it's addressing a pretty significant security issue.
That update come through about 25 minutes ago on my tcMP.

MBP update complete after a couple of restarts. iPhone updated too. Mac Studio Ultra currently upgrading.

Btw, you can refresh the Software Update window using command-r.

Interesting that this 13.4.1 update is released when the 13.5 release can't be that far off (in beta 3 currently). Must be pretty serious then. 🤔

Also curious is that the new releases for 12.6.7 and 11.7.8 have lower build numbers than the second betas of those versions released 3 weeks ago which were as follows:

Monterey 12.6.7 (21G708)
Big Sur 11.7.8 (20G1407)

as well as lower builds than the 12.6.8 and 11.7.9 betas relased last week which were as follows:

Monterey 12.6.8 (21G713)
Big Sur 11.7.9 (20G1413)

Build 22F2083
That build number is only for the 2023 15-inch macbook air, mac pro and mac studio.

Here are the device-specific ipsw and InstallAssistant.pkg files for those machines:

See next post for the more generic 13.4.1 build 22F82 links for other macs.

All deices updated and here - all is well 😊

It goes usually faster to update my intel MBA, then to update my Mac Studio.
But once Studio is up and running, no complains.
My MacBook Pro M1 was quick. The studio was like 15-20 minutes, don't remember an update being so slow on the Studio. But ya seems to be running a tad bit quicker, 😁.

I’m still using Big Sur which has been rock solid for my needs on my 2019 iMac. What am I missing out on with Ventura? I hate OS updates because usually something goes wrong afterwards.

Compatibility with iOS 16. Can’t really think of anything else. Apparently Sonoma is shaping up pretty nicely though, I actually have some hope for this software generation to actually fix longstanding bugs and introduce useful features.

Kind of surprised they aren’t patching it in Catalina as well. And they dropped 15 down the memory hole fast for any device that can install 16, despite their claims of security updates for previous iOS releases. Only option is latest version of 16.

After Ventura 13.3.1 broke FCP for pretty much a month, I am not taking this and I don't think I will ever risk another update. Easy pass for me.

I'm not sure why you're surprised. Apple provides security updates for the current major OS version, and provides some security updates for the previous two versions. Catalina hasn't gotten an update since last fall, before Ventura shipped.
