The buggy Homepod should either not have been released or be $99. Can't recall how many hours I've spent trying to update it. The multi-user support couldn't be less intuitive and following Apple's support page instructions on how to enable and use it has yet to work properly. It's also sad that Siri remains a beta-level product which isn't much better than when the 4S was released, what 8 years ago? Apple seems determined to remain the joke of the voice-based personal assistant world.

$99? LOL. They're barely making any money off the HomePod. People don't understand the advanced tech in that device. If you don't like Siri, fine, but the microphones and speakers are unparalleled at the introductory price level.

I used to love my HomePod. But between degradations in Siri's intelligence and apparent sound quality, I'm almost ready to sell mine. I got a Sonos One a few months ago for another room and it blows the HomePod away - no matter where I put them.

Updated all devices without issue. Because there are several there was an issue with having to get the first round to finish first, but almost all updates are done on apple devices today and no bricking! Wow, glad but sad this is the current state of things to be grateful from.

But the speakers do seem to sound better post update.

Hopefully this restores the ability to use them as an output for the Apple TV.

um .. never lost this ability ... then again never had this for they ATV4's youtube app.

EDIT ... I've yet to update mine ... but using my iMac's Home App within Mojave ... why am I see this in settings for my HomePod?

I honestly think the Apple hiFi from 2005 sounds better..

I think that’s the YouTube app. The app is the only one that doesn’t behave like all other apps as in, you cannot choose an audio source inside the app. It will play through my tv all the time and only by going through a procedure of going out of the app switching input audio sources on the homescreen and going back in will output sound through HomePods inside YouTube. Super annoying and because of it almost feeling pushed to get rid of that ***** app.

If I set them as my output, generally I can play one youtube video with no problem.

If I attempt a second, the video will stutter at some point. If I restart, audio will revert to being output to the TV via HDMI, but the volume control will display the HomePods' volume HUD and not affect anything.

The WWE Network app won't even send audio to the HomePods, regardless of them being my 'first try' or not.

This is a good update.

Now working..
The Mrs 'find my iphone' worked without doing anything new - wasnt working before.
HomeKit delay seems to have improved. No more 'One moment' and a delay, lights working as before.
Shortcuts requests, i have 3 that check train times and they are also working as pre- 13.0

This update has given me heart. So hopefully a step back to where we were before - to go forward.

Is it possible for you to expand on this thought?
Low end response seems more balanced. Before there was more focus on kids and highs. Now it seems like the bass has been brought up to how the AirPod pros sound.

Double tap the top right remote button on Apple TV to invoke the sleep and profile selection. Go down to airplay and you can enable the HomePods to play from this screen no matter what app you are in. Works for Disney plus as well.

I have a HomePod It’s pretty good but nothing special. It sounds fine for what’s basically another bt speaker. But I guarantee that a pair of $300 dollar speakers will crush a pair of HomePods sound wise.

I love my HomePod. It’s the perfect speaker for my bedroom. I’m looking to add 2 more. The convenience is whats great. And it sounds pretty good.

My biggest wish is that it played louder. But physics prevent lower bass and Playing louder with such a small speaker.

if you don’t like Siri. The mics mean nothing.

it’s all about the ecosystem.

Already did with the previous software version, but will do again for this one.
Thank you for reminding me

I do the same. Every time something isn't fixed I put a new bug in. Sadly this is like the 9th bug I'm filing for the screwed up Apple achievement badge. (Not an important one but an annoying one).

I dident know this was removed I use it as output everyday?

yes it is buggy watching watching the morning show I can get through one eposide before the audio gets out of sync its annoying glad I dent buy one just barrowed not worth that much money my bose desktop speakers for 100.00 sound better and my phone has siri so not worth it for me
I’ve had nothing but problems with one of my HomePods and homekit since iOS 13. I hope this fixes the issue, but I’m not holding my breath.

Nope, this doesn't fix it. I won't have time to until tomorrow, but I'm going to shoot a video (and submit to Apple as I've reported this like 4 times now) demonstrating how this isn't working.

And to be fair, I love my HomePods. Their sound is incredible and I'm actually surprised at how much we actually use Siri now. But I loved them more when they functioned as stereo speakers for my Apple TV-sourcing content.

Didn’t fix my biggest issue since last update it won’t remember playback position from a podcast being played via AirPlay from my iPhone. Reported and no response.

After 13.3 Siri on HomePod just stopped understanding what I was saying... Had to switch from English(USA) to English(UK). Weird. Anyone else encountered similar problems?
