I found two things in NYC this week:
1. “With you” for closed case APP now works on the older case model. It always worked on the newer magnetic case. However, still now notify when left behind.
2. Noise cancellation for super loud sounds - we were at a singing diner - worked amazing. Voice leak has increased - but I feel like this is the case with ALL of my headphones - Sony, Apple, and Bose. Presume it’s safety related.

I noticed voice leak waved I was using my APP on a flight yesterday. I could hear the captain giving announcements all while the usual aircraft noises were filtered out.

Totally. I’ve tried everything on APP, Beats Fit Pro, and new Sony XM5. All allowed captain - and the ultra loud people in front of me.
Only solution is shoving Westone W40 IEM into my ears like plugs.

So I finally updated the firmware of the Applepod Max... does anyone else feels like they lost the deep bass on movies?

looks like it was on Game of Thrones only on HBO max. I played the beginning of Blade Runner and its fine. Deep rumble

I think it would be a bit chaotic for their support people to troubleshoot devices that may or may not have whatever random version of firmware. If they all are kept current, that's a variable you can rule out if something goes awry.
Most people don’t know what firmware is. You’d need a massive public education campaign before requiring consent for firmware updates. Most people don’t know the difference between a web browser and a search engine. You’re asking too much.
As someone that used to do the troubleshooting for AirPods, it’s one of the last things we try, but firmware updates are part of the troubleshooting process. Usually, they’re current. But there are factors that can prevent the update and that does make the process a bit chaotic.
