Just updated to the latest firmware in the uk, even changed region to US.

I am kind of confused. I ran the hearing test using my iOS 18.1 (RC) phone and AirPods Pro 2 twice over the last 3 days. How is this possible if the firmware that allows this was released today?

I came here exactly for this. I've been using this feature already with firmware 7A305. So why are all the news sites saying that this version is introducing this feature, when it isn't?

Same here, I did the hearing test a few days ago when 18.1 RC came out, and my AirPods are on 7A305.

I may do the test again once this update installs, just in case the test needed something in the new version.

Has anyone outside the US seen this in settings, as far as I can tell it’s US only even if you set the device to US for both language and region, kinda makes sense the UK hasn’t signed off on it yet like the US regulators did, just checking though?

It's not US only, it works in Switzerland. There should be a country list somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Phone changed to US region
iOS 18.2 beta
Firmware updated on AirPods.

What else do I need to do as I don’t see a hearing test option anywhere?

AirPods Pro 2
iPhone 16 pro max

I’ve got a feeling that the AI trick of setting the Region and Siri language to US doesn’t work for this, which seems right, Apple won’t want to get complaints/lawsuits from users in areas it’s not met/been approved for the legal regulatory approvals. I’d just really like to try this out 🤗

everything on my device set to the US (im in the UK)
AirPods updated to 7B19
iOS on 18.1

Still nothing :(

Think this is a hard block from Apple, until they get approval from the UK regulators, they won’t want mess with the regulators hitting them with fines for non compliance never mind lawsuits from users

Mine also updated to 7B13d.

I’ve never been enrolled in beta for AirPods. Strange.

I wonder if Apple will offer a software hearing test to adjust to the user's level of hearing loss. It think I'd be selling any hearing aid company stock I own about now.
