I wished, they'd at least add different alarm sounds or the possibility to play a tune-in station as an alarm. I mean, it can play those stations if you ask for them but you need an apple music subscription to add it as an alarm? That's super-frustrating, imho

And please, fix those annoying "this is taking longer than expected, etc... " responses for simple things like setting a timer. Is it done on device or isn't it?

Also, nobody needs elaborate voice replies for every little fart of a request.

My Siri no longer says anything when I ask it to turn on a light or something. I don't know if I did anything or not, but it is definitely possible to have it not respond.

I just attempted to update all 4 of my OG Homepods. About half way through the update, one by one, each Homepod started making a high pitched humming sound and then EXPLODED into several pieces!

(Okay, that didn't really happen. At least not yet. I will never update my OG Homepods until at least 24 hours after each new software update, just to get a feel for what the majority of other people experienced).

I’m still 1 update behind this one (at least). Afraid of what the updates might do to my perfectly functioning Homepods. ‘Perfectly’…meaning as well as they ever performed, with lobotomized Siri (who definitely was dumbed down at some point over the past 3 years).

Updated my kitchen Mini and living room original stereo pair of homepods without any issues, although the update took a LONG WHILE. Everything seems fine. As for sound, I´m listening now to the OG stereo pair. Seems more louder and clearer, less muddy. The midrange is a bit more prominent (¡good!). Atmos is off and lossless in ON.

The redesigned home app is very confusing and I will have to take some time with it when I have more free time.

hmmm - I updated my to HomePods to iOS16, and they still work fine (as a pair) from my iPhone and my iPad. I can also select them in Music on my Mac Studio. However, when I select them for output, no sound comes out from for instance Music or Chrome/YouTube. The only way I can play music on them from my Mac Studio is by selecting them as a specific output in Music.

I am on Ventura Beta, and so that may be the reason...

I updated a stereo paired mini to 16 and now I have issues with them. When I start Apple music, it only play one song and stop instead of going to the next one. Restarted my router, iPhone and the mini's but now my iPhone see them but won't play anything I send to them. I had the same issue last year but it got fixed with a new router. I'll wait for a patch I guess.

I’m confused - didn’t they say at WWDC we would have a choice whether or not to upgrade our HomeKits to the new version? What happened to that?

I am. And yes, it’s exactly the same. They fixed absolutely nothing. Oh and Apple’s support is wonderful… I opened a support case with them over this in iOS15. They confirmed the issue was known to them and assured me it was being fixed. Then they just stopped replying to my emails regarding the case. No response at all. They did this to me a couple of years ago when iCloud Drive wasn’t syncing my files between my 2 Macs. They just stopped responding at one point and I sent 4 or 5 emails politely asking for a response. Nothing.

One mine is apparently downloading 15.6 and another 16 lol
Mine did the same thing (with automatic updates on too). not sure why the larger homepods never update (unless I go in the app and manually do it) while the mini's update on their own all the time.

Until we are able to deprioritize the HomePod as a HomeKit hub, or disable it from being used as one entirely, I’m not plugging mine back in. What a waste.

That’s great! Mine sometimes does and sometimes doesn’t. When it’s late I appreciate when it doesn’t audibly reply. I should dig through the settings to figure this out.
