These are all pretty good.

Going back to basics.

Highlighting one feature to implicate the total smoothness of the whole Apple eco.

Then there's really no reason for you to be on this thread is there? You and your boyfriend want to stay in the old times go right ahead.

Well you're a class act aren't you? Lighten up and take as it was meant, i.e. a bit of light-hearted banter

WOW, that is a must have feature in any phone. I'm going to go buy 14 iPhone 6's just because of this incredibly useful feature. I'm so glad Apple made me aware of this.

If only there was some kind of way to communicate with people using our voices, in a conversation of sorts, using these devices.

Wow, your life must be so convenient that everyone you want to speak to is always able to speak to you at the exact moment you decide to try to use your phone to communicate with your voice.

It's basically a quicker, easier way to leave a voicemail.

Missing the point here, it is integrated seamlessly into iMessage, in the Messages app, quick voice clips you can just send, very nifty and neat, not a gigantic must must have feature, but it is nice

Not sure who is missing the point. It's called sarcasm. (wink)

Apple, once again, addressing non-pro users.
I want a lot more from my devices than "amazing fun stuff".
Not impressed at all :(

You know who does a good job of delivering the lines required for an advert which isn’t trying to leverage star power and simply requires words to be spoken (You don’t even need them there, have a hand model manipulate the phone)? Voiceover artists.

Oh grow up. The idea that “if you can’t do better, you shouldn’t criticise” is pathetic and childish. You don’t need to be a professional chef to know when a dish is burned.

Yes, neither of them have particularly memorable voices. Do you not remember the slightly odd moment during the Keynote when the adverts were played, Tim asked “does anyone know who we got to do these” and there was total silence in the room. These are not memorable voices.

I see your point. To be very honest, I didn't even know who they were until they were mentioned or I believe I read them somewhere. But I did think they did a good job with the Ads. So I feel like as long as they do the intended job Apple is trying to portray you're good. But I'm sure there's more suitable people for this situation compared to JT and JF.

Have you seen the ad? The two guys downright explain the benefit of voice over text.

Yeah, I saw the commercial that pointed out absurd reasons that the sender would want to use it. If they can't find a way to make a statement without sarcasm or with find a way to convey sarcasm in a text (like with an emoji), they absolutely need to sing a message, or if the sender can't spell.

It also didn't show any benefit to the recipient, which was why I asked if anyone had noticed any benefit to the recipient? Have you seen my post? :p

Exactly because people should only communicate in a "proper" way according to you.

Ridiculous post. During the holiday shopping season "pros" are not the target audience. And do "pros" really need advertisements to purchase their tools of the trade? I should think not. Advertisements are generally for the average consumer who doesn't know what to buy.

Fair point.

Fair point. People might find it better to use their voice to convey their meaning or because they need to sing. That's on them. I was more so pointing out that the previous poster at no point addressed my question, have people, in their usage, found it useful as a recipient? Because it basically sounds like receiving a voicemail, which many find annoying in most circumstances.

so now iMessage gets the capability what almost any messenger app on earth has for years? such wow :apple: is that really worth an ad? Where was the copy & paste ad?

It's also a nice throwback to NeXT; NeXTSTEP's mail application had a voice clip attachment feature which was featured by Steve Jobs in marketing materials. Messages provides a more fluid UI context to receive audio than mail apps though, so it seems a more useful feature now. Actually, it'd be nice if they expanded this to include short video clips as well.

uhhh they already have the short video clip thing with the camera icon on the other side of the mic. Not sure if you were being sarcastic or just ignorant of the fact, or are you saying that they should also have a commercial for the short video clip feature?

Oh my God, it's true. Americans just don't get sarcasm.
