I did encounter Rosetta being uninstalled going from Beta 3 to Beta 4. When I ran the first Intel application it prompted me with dialog requiring sys permissions to install. Sent feedback to Apple to correct that change for M1 Mac users.

Sounds like you need to be on windows forums! Apple leads, not follow!

Except when Apple forsakes beautifully unique and intuitive operating systems and follows windows and google operating systems, adopting much of the bland, monochromatic and often vague and unintuitive flat design interface details.

I may now be stuck at "preparing" as it's been stuck there for a while now saying 25 minutes left and "NRDUpdated" process is using an entire high performance core.

For those running on this latest Monterrey Beta... Would you mind commenting on how stable it is, is it ready to jump on? (for your everyday Mac, understanding it is a Beta and thing might come up)

Thanks in advance!

I am using it on a daily basis since ß3 and now ß4.
Il your softwares are compatible (see wiki pist list), no major issue for me.
Standards Apps are working fine including Adobe suite.

What is the version number of this new public beta release? I am terribly confused. Yesterday I downloaded and installed 12.0 Beta (21A5284e). Is this the same one this article is referencing?

What is really annoying is that there is a full installer available for the public beta 3 but still no full installer available for developer beta 4.

These are the same build number 21A5294g.

Maybe apple will release it to developers later, but for now the only way developers can get the full installer is to download the public beta.
Actually the full installer is available for developers too now. Don't know why they released the full installer to public beta testers before developers though.

Do you do full install or upgrade?
Upgrade from previous ß requires on my machine 30 minutes preparation.
full install is fine too.

I let the upgrade run for an hour before downloading the full installer which didn't work either. After deleting the beta profile, and then reinstalling it, everything went smoothly.

I had no trouble downloading and installing this beta, and Mail works much better and Safari looks nicer. But I was working on a Final Cut Pro project in the previous public beta with no trouble and this beta causes FCP to immediately crash on startup, every single time. I'm going back to the previous beta now.

I think this operating system is gonna be a dud.

Usually previous bata versions of macOS have been leaked to non bata testers to install.

This version of macOS has such little interest that no one has leaked a Bata version of it yet.

Unlike Windows 11 leaked bata which just about everyone has.
Update is still very significant
- Quick note and the Notes update is super handy for a student like me
- Not a Safari user but the redesign looks slick
- I use Portrait Mode a lot on my Teams calls, it's better than the inbuilt blur
- Focus is amazing. Super useful.

Might be minor after the Big Sur redesign but every update adds something useful for people. If you don't want to update to Monterey, don't update to Monterey. End of story.

My FCP 10.5.4 on ß4 (21A5294g) is working smoothly...

Bata? Something to do with fried fish?

Is the "M1 + LG Ultra Wide + can't wake up without disconnecting TB cable" or "M1 + LG Ultra Wide + wakes up @ 30hz" fixed already? Does anyone know?
